Hello Support

My Mouse over "Bruce Icon" does no work any more.

Please click on this link and mouse over a video thumbnail and notice the Yak that appears saying "Click to play video"

http://finalbug.net/home-of-bruce/paradigm-shift/fcp-x-4-beginners/entry/360-waiting-for-fcp-x-1-1-part-03

Then Click on this link and mouse over the Video Thumbnail. Notice there is no Yak.

http://finalbug.net/home-of-bruce/more-stuff/bruce-speaks/entry/361-video-editing-time-lapses

I am using the advanced media manager from JCE. I remember Adelene did make some change somewhere at some point to the code. When I try and insert a mouse over thumbnail (In my case the video with a Yak superimposed) I can save but no save is saved if you know what i mean. I can not save a Thumbnail using the JCE Extended media manager in Easy Blog. This used to work!

I did an update to EasyBlog 3.9 from 3.8 so maybe I have over written something some where. I did an Akeba back up of the Site before the Easy Blog update so I should be able to fish out old files if necessary. Please advise.

thanks

Paul

Hello Paul,

Seems like you have misunderstood me The FTP is working fine. I actually can't access your backend or your frontend of the site. Please advice.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene

I guess that you are up to your eyes. I just wanted to ask if you have managed to find out anything about why the Mouse Over no longer works?

Hello Paul,

Sorry for the late reply. I have checked your issue and it seems like it has nothing to do with EasyBlog. Even in the entry page "Bruce" is not appearing. Somehow I think there might be an issue with the JCEMediaBox. Please contact the developers regarding this. The following are just some extra information I got from debugging. Firstly All your other images have 2 versions

-with no Bruce
images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/imagenameWEB.jpg

-with Bruce
images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/imagenameBRUCE.jpg

In the post which has errors

http://finalbug.net/home-of-bruce/more-stuff/bruce-speaks/entry/361-video-editing-time-lapses

there is only i image so that is why the "Bruce" is not appearing. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene

This is what they are saying over at JCE

*****

This is the same EasyBlog issue as before. Easyblog creates a featured image from the first image in the article, and in doing so may be removing some of the image attributes.

You will need to contact StackIdeas support about this.

*****

Any ideas how to proceed?

thanks

Here is what is happening over at JCE

they asked me the following...

Before saving the article, if the you click the [Toggle Editor] link at the top of the editor toolbar, is the onmouseover attribute intact?

If you then click Save, is the onmouseover attribute still intact?

To which I replied

BEFORE:

Before saving the article, if the you click the [Toggle Editor] link at the top of the editor toolbar, is the onmouseover attribute intact?

<p>Time Lapse Video Edit // Mike Candys @ Energy 2000 Project</p>
<p><a data-mediabox="width[1280];height[720];title[final BUG Orange Channel]" class="jcepopup" target="_blank" title="2013-10-26AAASlick" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdqDoJGShuE&list=PLqNRVhvpQvvvY8TUL6WuDzIFZleFs2iHy&index=1&autoplay=1";><img onmouseover="this.src='images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/2013-10-26AAASlickBRUCE.jpg';" onmouseout="this.src='images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/2013-10-26AAASlick.jpg';" alt="2013-10-26AAASlick" src="images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/2013-10-26AAASlick.jpg" height="375" width="600" /></a></p>

AFTER:

If you then click Save, is the onmouseover attribute still intact?

<p>Time Lapse Video Edit // Mike Candys @ Energy 2000 Project</p>
<p><a data-mediabox="width[1280];height[720];title[final BUG Orange Channel]" class="jcepopup" target="_blank" title="2013-10-26AAASlick" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdqDoJGShuE&list=PLqNRVhvpQvvvY8TUL6WuDzIFZleFs2iHy&index=1&autoplay=1";><img alt="2013-10-26AAASlick" src="images/easyblog_images/62/2013-4th-quater/2013-10-26AAASlick.jpg" height="375" width="600" /></a></p>

CONCLUSION

I guess that this means that either JCE is not saving certain information or Easy Blog is removing information on save?

Hello Paul,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I am still checking this out I have found out what you've just posted here yesterday but I still can't locate where the codes are being stripped. I will need more time to check this out as it's going to be the weekends for us I'm sorry for the delay here.

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. I just re-tested this and the images are working fine now? Can you try creating a new post and try this again?

Thanks!

Hi Adelene

Thanks for testing again. This is waht the JCE people are now saying.

***************************************************

This is a bit strange, and to my mind seems to be a bug in the Joomla ACL. If a user is assigned to the Super User group, as well as other user groups below it, the settings for the highest group, ie: Super User, should be used, not the ones below it. This might only be an issue in the Text Filter settings, and not in the ACL generally, I don't know.

What appears to be happening here is the Text Filter settings for one of the lower groups (Administrator, finalbug Admins) is being applied - removing the onmouseover event - rather than the Super User filter settings.

The only solution here is to remove the other groups from the Super User.

There is an alternative to the mouseover, using some fancy css, and a modified version of your mouseover image (just the icon and caption ballon) :

a.jcepopup:hover {
position : relative;
font-size: 0;
line-height : 0;
}

a.jcepopup:hover:after {
background: url("images/path/to/ballon.jpg") no-repeat center;
content: "";
display: inline-block;
height: 100%;
left: 0;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
width: 100%;
}

**************

Does this make any sense to you?

best

Hi Adelene

It might be resolved but I still do not understand it!

Please correct me if I am wrong!

It seems that now any one who post a Blog has to be a Super User!

Question

I wonder how this effects a guest Blogger?

It would mean that they are a Super User and I still approve there post?

Is this not a bit strange.

Like could a Super User (blogger) theoretically delete all of my posts?

thanks

Hello Paul,

You can always remove the restrictions from the ACL settings. Please go to backend -> EasyBlog -> ACL -> select user group and check the right side there the scripts are restricted. Also yes a Super User has all the access so they willbe able to delete all your post. Hope this helps.

Thanks!
