Multiples Emails for same post (3-6 emails)

Since upgrading to the new version, when a post is published, many users are getting upwards of 5-6 emails per post. I am not sure if this is a related to being subscribed to a parent category or and subsequent child categories though.

Please advise.
Hey Larry,

I checked the mail activities of the site and there are actually no duplicates there. I am presuming that you are getting duplicates because the cronjob may have overlapped one another. What is the duration of the cron service?

currently every 5 minutes. should I increase to 30?

Hi Larry,

30 minutes would be too long for the notification to reach to your subscribers. I suggest you to put 15 minutes interval instead and see how it goes.

the change was made and when I post was done this morning, I received 5 separate emails.

Hey Larry,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. What if you set it to 30? Can you see if you are getting duplicates at 30 minutes?

User subscribed to a category today and I got 5 emails about it. Not sure if that is related to the cron or not, but still multiple emails.

Update: never mind, looks like he subscribed to 5 categories very quickly.

30 seconds seems to have reduced the emails from 5-6 down to 3. I will try upping the time again.
