Hey!

Playing around with the new Payplans update, (on a development server) I ran into a setup question:

In addition to the regular membership options, I'd like to offer bundle deals e.g. for workgroups of 10 users. Preferably I'd want the client (company) to get invoiced, but the users to register separately. What would be the best practice setup to do this in Payplans? With coupons? And is there a way to automate that process, or would it require manually setup per client?

A wide question I know, but if you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry to hijack your post but I also need to do exactly the same thing. I want to create a company plan which allows multiple users to register under the plan but the company pays the bill.

Hey Jan & Mel,

What i understand , you want to purchase bundle subscription for example for 10 user's. but want to give them separately as as gift subscriptions. They don't need to pay.
You can refer below mentioned document, if as per 3.x version of payplans but functionality is same in pp4. We are working on pp4 documents.
https://stackideas.com/docs/payplans/administrators/access-control/gift-subscription

You can find this coupon generate option on backend PayPlans > Discount tab.
Let me know if you have any query or correct me if i misunderstood.

Hi Manisha,

thanks for explaining. I am looking at the setup now to see how this would work. So here is my example. I have a Company register (as a Single Branch) and want them to be the payer of a fixed monthly subscription. All their staff can register individually under that Company and they are not charged anything.

I cannot see the Payplans Gift Subscription App in the backend, when I click on New I am presented with a number of apps but that isn't one of them - there used to be a download store which I can no longer see.

I have created a plan for Single Branch (company)
I can see under Discounts tab that I can create discounts and also generate coupon but there is no way to attach it to my Single Branch plan (I am guessing the missing app handles this)?.

Hey,

Gift app will not shown in app section, it's already installed. You need to configure through plugin manager.
see attached screen shot.

Edit this plugin and configure it according to you needs. After that in frontend user will be able to see the gift options.
Let me know if you have any query.

Hi Manisha,

thank you.

It says Recurring subscription plans are not supported. In my case the company will be paying a monthly subscription of $x and for that fee all their staff can register - will this not work in this case?
Also, would I leave the Limit per order at 0 for unlimited staff?

I then went to create a discount plan. I set it to the staff sign up (in my case single agent) should this be set to the Company (Branch in my case?) as when I tried to save it, it produced the following error:

An error has occurred.

Hi Manisha (and Mel),

I'm starting to see the logic after playing around with it a bit more, but if I interpret Mel correctly, I think we both have a few feature requests going forward.

I almost can't think of a subscription scenario where you wouldn't want to offer "bundle deals", where if you purchase, 10, 50, 100, 1000 licenses at once - you will get a better price. With gift coupons, you will only get more at the same price. With Advanced Pricing, you only discount on subscription time, not number. (btw is there any way to generate codes automatically when using Advanced Pricing or Dynamic Modifiers?)

Also – if you enter your gift coupon and then cancel the purchase, it's spent. It should only be used on final checkout, right?

I can understand the reasoning behind coupons not working on recurring subscriptions, although that would be great too. E.g. like a family subscription on Spotify.

Do you see any way to differentiate the price when using gift coupons?

If not, I think we can mark this thread as solved, with the solution for now being that you CAN use the coupons to do it, but for a discount, you need to treat bundles more as products and then manually generate and send the coupon codes.

Hey Jan,

(btw is there any way to generate codes automatically when using Advanced Pricing or Dynamic Modifiers?)
Currently it's not possible.

Also – if you enter your gift coupon and then cancel the purchase, it's spent. It should only be used on final checkout, right?
Do you mean , you mean removed the discount coupon or something else ?

Do you see any way to differentiate the price when using gift coupons?
Currently it's not possible to differentiate price for same subscription.

Update me or correct me if i misunderstood.

Thank you for your answers Manisha!

A clarification below:

Also – if you enter your gift coupon and then cancel the purchase, it's spent. It should only be used on final checkout, right?
Do you mean , you mean removed the discount coupon or something else ?

What I meant was that if you as a user get a coupon, enter it in the checkout coupon field, but instead of completing the checkout, you exit back and pick another plan or whatever, the coupon is registered as used and cannot be used anymore, even though it was never used at all.

Cheers,
Jan

Hey Jan,

If user already applied that discount coupon to the invoice then he will not be able to use on another invoice till that invoice is still in pending state and user can pay that invoice also.

Let me know if you have any query.
