Multiple Notifications and Emails for single Activity

I found an old post that included a patch for someone else having this same issue, but I think that was because he couldn't give backend access to support. So I'm asking about this myself. I apologize if this has been addressed before..

Users are reporting duplicate and quadruple notifications and emails sent for a single activity.

Is there a fix for this?

Hm, to be honest with you, I can't really recall which particular thread is this but is there any way for us to "reproduce" this issue on your site?

But for my users, it's still happening.
I've changed one my user's login so that you can use it and test. See notes in Site Details.

Hello Troy,

Which of the notification is duplicated eh? I don't seem to see any duplicate notifications when logged in as the user. The fix on the other thread only fixes duplicate "email notifications" IF you are on "send email on page load" but your site is using cronjob I believe?

Mark, maybe he deleted them. I will ask him to save the notifications when he gets them for another look.

If you log into that person's account again, you should be able to see the duplicates in his notifications. He reported that it continues.

Hi,

I've identified the issue and it is caused by a bug where editing the discussion will sends out another "Discussion Created" notification.

I've fixed this on your site (this only affects new actions). Can you give this a try and continue monitor to see if the issue arises again?
