I am getting emails that users are getting the same email 5 times - always five.
And it's from multiple users. Not sure why this should be happening. It happened a while ago then went away, but now it's back.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you running on cronjobs or are you running on "send email on page load"?

It was on page load, then I moved to cronjobs and it went away. But its back using cronjobs

How long is the cronjob set to? There could be some overlapping going on. By the way, is there any way for me to access the back end and also the FTP access of the site?

Sorry for late reply. Cronjobs are set to 5 minutes, as per your instructions. And this is the pilot I'm working on so I cant give access. Should I increase the cronjob time?

Hello,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Attached the patch.zip file to address this duplicate emails issue. Download the patch.zip file and extract the zip file and you should see two folder, models and includes. Copy the file 'models/mailer.php' to folder 'JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/' and overwrite the existing 'mailer.php'. Now, copy the file 'includes/mailer.php' to folder 'JOOMLA/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/mailer/' and overwrite the existing 'mailer.php'.

Let me know if you still getting same duplicate emails or not with these two files. Remember to backup the original files first before you overwrite with the one attached here.

Is this patch good for everyone? I'm having the same issues. Users reporting multiple copies of notifications and emails for the same activity.

This issue should already been fixed in the latest version of EasySocial since this issue has been pretty old.
