Hi Si Team

Sorry this is really frustrating.
I was fixing some stuff in a post.
Some of the picture captions were in the back end but not front end!
Further I was taking the captions out of the pictures and putting them in separate text boxes.
I was doing this so that I could add italic formatting to the text!

And Viola I can no longer save my post

please advise

Paul
Hey Paul,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

We do not have documentation about this, but we will update on this.

I believe you might be understand a lot of our customer using Easyblog product and a lot of feedback/demands around it, so our developer trying their best fit all the other customer need and provided an image source option when they upload the image, they can select which size want to publish on the blog page.

Alright, keep us updated then.

Hi Paul,

May I know which post that you want to edit on your site? I've tried to replicate the issue in my local instance but it seems like everything is working correctly.

Please advise.

hi Erzul

Please go here:

http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/470-youtube%C2%B4s-copyright-robot-collateral-damage

Look for the image I post below as an attachment.

a) See if you can add a text block below this image?
b) See if you can add the following text?

I did some quick Googling, and found that “IDOL” is a digital music asset management agency (http://www.idol.io). Digital asset management companies do all the uploading, marketing, and digital rights management for their clients.

c) See if you can save?

thanks

Also please see screen shots for more strangeness!
Please note the descriptions for the screen shots included in the blog post.
There are doubled up in the front end.
I am trying to replace all descriptions with italics only

Hi Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Seems like everything is working correctly here from my end. I also noticed that all the images contains the edited captions like you mentioned in your previous replied, http://screencast.com/t/3qE9wmQxI . Perhaps you can try to play around with it a little bit until you found the steps on how to replicate the issue on your site. When that time come kindly let us know.

Hey Erzul

Ok here are some things that I am noticing.
Some of them are probably bugs, some me not understanding how things work and some constructive suggestions for improving things

01) Sometimes the labels for things get mixed up, sometime not!
02) Maybe this is me bit I find the zooming confusing. Probably because it is I nightmare to zoom the vimeo videos from a code perspective
03) Things get hidden behind blocks when zooming. Easy to miss stuff
04) This is probably my stupidity but I do not understand why there are 2 versions of the screen shots that I upload? One is bigger than the original that I uploaded. By bigger I mean file size.
05) When adding lightbox images. I have lets say the first 5 done. Then I save. Check at front end. Every thing OK.
Then I do the last 5 lightbox images and save. The second 5 work OK but fist 5 are broken

Update I now have all 10 images working:

http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/470-youtube´s-copyright-robot-collateral-damage

BUTTTTTT

In the background I am still saving 5 minutes later.
At some point I press cancel and navigate away from the blog post in the back end.
I return to the front end and it still works.

Then I go back to the back end and make one minor change eg add and extra
!

Save and return to the front end and my images no longer work.

Sorry but this is very, very frustrating

Maybe you have some thoughts about these points?

thanks

With respect to 5

Update I have reduced the size of my files to an average of 175KB
Also made them all the same physical size now this works.
Maybe that helped

Hey Paul,

I am sorry that delay of this reply, I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead if that was different issue, that would help you get our support fast response to you. Please find your answer in your queries below :

01) Sometimes the labels for things get mixed up, sometime not!

May i know do you referring this missing language part? Check my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/L1HZ2usb2t9Q
If yes, can you try update via Easyblog updater and see how it goes? Because we just released another new version for this.

02) Maybe this is me bit I find the zooming confusing. Probably because it is I nightmare to zoom the vimeo videos from a code perspective
03) Things get hidden behind blocks when zooming. Easy to miss stuff

I have a little bit lost here, do you mean zoom your browser page from composer pop up then all the right setting panel is missing? Check my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/cFCPXRH4mR
If yes, may i know what is the reason you would like to zoom in? Because if I recall correctly the video have their own zoom feature. (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/PX9OeKtDBGr )

04) This is probably my stupidity but I do not understand why there are 2 versions of the screen shots that I upload? One is bigger than the original that I uploaded. By bigger I mean file size.

Perhaps you can provide us more information regarding this question so we can investigate on this :
#1. Provide us with you mentioned that image file
#2. Which post are you referring

05) When adding lightbox images. I have lets say the first 5 done. Then I save. Check at front end. Every thing OK.
Then I do the last 5 lightbox images and save. The second 5 work OK but fist 5 are broken

I tested in my locally first added 5 image in gallery block, after that add 5 more image, it seems work fine for me.
Can you provide us which post facing this issue?

Update I now have all 10 images working:

http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/470-youtube´s-copyright-robot-collateral-damage

BUTTTTTT

Correct me if I getting wrong your meaning here, do you mean when you edit this post http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/470-youtube´s-copyright-robot-collateral-damage from backend and add 1 more extra image block, but it not working? Please advise.

Do you mean your image file?

Hi Arlex

1) YES SOLVED. This is what I am referring to. I have updated and things look good :-)

2) With respect to the zooming. I am talking about the back end. When I am editing a post.
I guess what works best for me after some experimenting is zooming to 150% on a 1920 times 1080 screen. I do not know if my screen is bigger than average. This is a pretty standard screen size for any one who works with video! Any way at 150% I can see that the width of my screenshots have the width of my videos. Which is kind of important.

3) YES SOLVED. I think the things getting hidden solves it self when I zoom to 150% :-)

4) Please go to this Blog post:
http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/472-nle-tracks-roles-part-2-of-3
This post contains 3 videos and 9 screen shots.
I optimise all of the screen shots. 800 times 450-500 pixels.
I make sure that they are jpgs and about 50kb big.
I insert them one after the other into the post
Now please go to the first Image after the first video in this post.
There are two versions of it.
One is about 50KB and the other is about 70KB
a) I uploaded and selected the 50kb image
b) I have no idea where the second 70kb image is coming from
c) I have no idea why the 70KB image is being selected. I did not select it.
d) this happens for all images!

5) YES SOLVED. Seems to be under control :-)

thanks for your patience and I will try to break stuff like this down into smaller parts in the future

Yes, you're right. I also tested composer view on 1920x1080 resolution screen with 150% and 50%, right settings panel is shown up.

Actually that second one is `large` image, when you upload image on your media manager, the system will generate 6 type of image source e.g. Original, large, medium, thumbnail, small, icon . I am not really sure why it being selected because I check on this post -> http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/472-nle-tracks-roles-part-2-of-3 and it seems like different when i compare with your attached image screenshot.
Perhaps you can try create another new post and see is it still hitting this issue?

Hey Arlex

OK this is beginning to make sense kind of.
Is there documentation for these "6 type of image source"?
In my world I always prefer to scale large pictures down rather than scale small pictures up.
Assuming of course that they are not vector graphics.

I will role out a new post next week and keep an eye on this.
