module to show random post

Hi,
Is there a way to use the module (Recent Discussion) and show random post? or is there another module in easydiscuss to show random post?

Hello Ricardo,

I'm sorry but there is no module can do that. But you can hack the recent module to randomize post. Please replace the attached file in: ../modules/mod_recentdiscussions/helper.php. If it doesn't work, you can provide us your backend and FTP so we can hack it for you.

Hi Nick,
Thanks Nick, but will it set the module (recent discussion) to always be random? What if I create another "recent discussion" module with a different category and don't want to show random post?

Hello Ricardo,

It will affect all Recent discussion module. If you create a new recent discussion module, it will also show the random post.

Ah ic. I saw a module for easyblog with a random post, will this be added to easydiscuss in future updates?
