I am a little bit lost here, can you elaborate more details what you mean by modify toolbar elements?

I want to add a category in the toolbar (as photos, events...) and a page attached for integrate zoo module in.
But when i go in components/easysocial/toolbar/default.php and add a category, nothing happen.

If you mean you would like to add some of the link into the toolbar, first you have to see which Easysocial theme you used on your site now, because some of the theme will use different PHP file.

I assume if you didn't change your Easysocial theme before, so it will be use the default wireframe theme.

Then this is the file you should modify it JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/toolbar/default.php

If still doesn't affect anything, perhaps you can provide us your modified file so I will see if I can find out something wrong from this modified file?
