Hi

I was not able to achieve these goals for our groups : typically, each of our group is a classroom with 1 or 2 teachers.

.

  • I would like the teacher of each group to be able to edit his own comment,
  • I would like also all the users of EasySocial to be able to send a private message to someone without the need to be his/her « friend »

Can we set up these two types of user rights for groups of users?

Thank you for your help

Hi Mizaël,

1. Do your teachers belong to a separate profile type in EasySocial? If yes, you can enable this ACL option(attached), which allows users under the profile to modify any comments on EasySocial.
EDIT: This is only available on the profile type layer.

2. You can enable this setting. Any user will be able to message any user, provided the receipient's privacy allows it.
Settings>General>Conversations>Allow Messaging Non Friends
EDIT: This is only available as a global setting.

Hi Raymond

Thank you for your responses.

1.
Yes, teachers and students are in 2 different profiles.
I have checked the teacher profiles, and it is already correct ; but we cannot modify or erase our own comments (see attachments)

2.
Yes it works very fine !

Hey Mizaël,

From your screenshot, I see that the option is not enabled(attached). Once you enable this, are you able to edit other user's comments?

In your second screenshot, is that a stream item, or a comment? There are different settings for editing stream items.

Hi Raymond

Thank you for your help.

I have now enabled all parameters in comment autorization for users, and it works! I thought that we could be able to only delete its own comments without being able to delete comments of others users.

You are right: I also want to be able to delete (or modify) the stream items, which I can’t for now. Could you tell me where can I find the parameters for this?

Hey Mizaël,

If you want to allow normal group members to edit stream items, you have to select the following option in the group's category(attached1).

As for deleting stream items, you can enable the following in user profile type ACL section(attached2).

Hi Raymond

Thank you very much.
While looking at your solution, I’ve found that I would better
keep the stream editing for teachers only by promoting them as the administrator of their groups (that’s a thing I should I’ve done before...).
