Hello!
Is it possible to moderate new posts in frontend?
I mean reject/approve.
Thanks.
Hi Roman,

Yes that is possible. You have to enable the Manage Pending Posts ACL for the user group.

I'm Super User. So yes, this option is enabled. But I can't see new post in frontend. In same time I can see it in backend.

I recorded a short video to show how it goes - Title

Hey Roman,

Pending posts do not show up on the listing with other posts. There is a section for pending posts, which is here: yoursite.com/forum/dashboard

It can also be accessed from the toolbar.
On EasyDiscuss toolbar:
toolbar dropdown>Manage>Manage Site

Ok, got it.
But why notification not displays for super users, when new posts under moderation?
I mean I have to open section for pending posts to check if we have new posts.

Hey Roman,

Which notification are you referring to? System notification(on toolbar) or email notifications?

Toolbar.
Because we are on frontend.
So, we need notifications about new pending posts in toolbar.

Hey Roman,

If that's the case, you will have to set the admin/moderator's user groups under the category>Permissions>Moderate Posts in this Category section.

If I'll set this option, I will not get email notifications on specific emails.

And, not clear, why it's so difficult.

It's simple and in the same time important behavior:
1. Get email notifications (set specific emails).
2. Get frontend notifications for Pending Posts.

Hey Roman,

Unfortunately it's not possible to achieve both of these together. How the specific email work is that it adds to the existing list of emails, not replace them(remove the email list and add the specific).

I would suggest enabling email notifications to other site admins so you can also get the front-end notifications.

We have many admins on site. including super users for extensions developers, same as you.
Each of those admins doing own specific work on the site. They should not get notifications from the forum.
This is why we unset notifications for ALL admins on the site.
At the same time, we have 2 admins, which moderate news posts. And they should get email notifications and frontend notifications.
It's still unclear why we can't get this simple behavior.

Hey Roman,

Different site wants to have different configuration so there's bound to be some that are not able to achieve the behavior they want, regardless how 'simple' it is.

One more suggestion I can provide, create a new user group, for example, forum moderator, then assign this user group to your 2 admins.

In the category permission, select this user group for moderation permissions. You can refer the attached screenshot.
