Hi,

How can I set datepicker fields as read-only to disable the keyboard on mobile devices. Its so annoying having to minimise the keyboard every time I tap a button

Regards

Tony
Hello Tony,

May I know which particular field are you referring to? Can you provide us with the screenshot of the field so that we know which theme file is responsible in generating the field that you are referring to.

Hi,

The the datepicker in events. Everytime you tap a button the keyboard pops up.

After doing some research I think some custom css to make the datepicker read only stops the keyboard from appearing but the calendar part still works.

Hello Tony,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. You can edit the file /media/com_easysocial/apps/fields/event/startend/themes/default/content.php and add the readonly attribute on the text input, https://take.ms/cSaSC

This will prevent the keyboard from being rendered if the user tries to edit it.

Hi, Thank you, thats working brilliantly. I edited the endate too.

Maybe look at putting this as an option for datetime and event startend fields in workflows in future.

Thanks again

Tony

You are most welcome. We'll see if this makes sense to be added into the core in the future releases.

It is very annoying when tapping the up/down buttons to change the time and the keyboard pops up and you have to close it to tap the button again

Thanks for the input on this Tony. We'll see if we can also apply this fix into 4.0
