When viewing blog posts via the blog home page, post images are displayed correctly (400px wide, aligned left, with spacing).

When an individual post is clicked, you're presented with a "huge" image with the text below it.

Previously, the image characteristics were carried over to the individual posts.

Hello Mark,

You may configure this under Settings > Layout > Post Covers > Entry layout as you can see from my screen shot here, http://take.ms/V5sHn

Thanks for the reply.

I "am" able to adjust the image properties via the layout settings, but that doesn't really solve the problem. There are times that the image needs additional padding (top or bottom) to have the text wrap around the image properly (not wrap paragraphs mid-stream).

It seems that the JCE parameters for the image are being ignored.

All other JCE functions for the text (bold, font size, etc..) are being carried over.

Hello Mark,

Did you set a post cover for this post or is this image within the post itself? In 5.1, we actually tried to standardize the post layout so that the first image would be used as a "post cover" but it seems like not many people really liked this behavior.

We will update this in 5.1.6 so that if you are embedding the image within the post, it should appear as is and we will not use the first image as the post cover on the entry layout.

I've always placed any images within the post itself. This is advantageous when it comes to using roll-overs and image pop-ups using JCE media manager.

I would still prefer the older options for images, but I can work with the current layout without much problem. I'll update to 5.1.6 when it becomes available.

Just as a note, I am extremely happy with EB, ES, and Komento being used on my site. The administrator options are easy to understand and use. The front-side presentation and functionality are excellent. The support I receive is absolutely the best. For a person like me with no coding experience, I could not of found a better set of products to convey the information presented on my site.

please make this only as an option because for me i like the method as it is now (grab the first image in blog post).

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the input on this and of course, for your kind compliments. It's like our body fuel because whenever we receive nice words like this, we tend to push ourselves harder

In 5.1.6, this is what is going to happen:

1. When automated truncation is enabled and the option use first post image as cover is enabled, the first image would become the post cover in the listing view.

2. In the entry view, EasyBlog will not try to do anything funky. It'll render the content as is and I believe this is something that everyone wants

3. On the opengraph tags and all other metadata being used in auto postings, sharing etc, the first image of the post would be used as the post cover unless there is a post cover explicitly provided.
