I know Videos are scheduled for ES 1.3, but since Mijosoft released their new video sharing MijoVideos component yesterday, I wanted to check if there were any plans to integrate both MijoShop and MijoVideos into EasySocial?

MijoShop integration was mentioned as a possibility/inquiry in a post last month, is there any progress?

Ref the EasySocial in house version of videos in v1.3, Mijoshop are using VideoJS and spent 6 months developing the component, there may be something useful to pick up from it even if integration is not a planned option.

A full description of MijoVideos is below:

MijoVideos Details
Hi,

Currently we are focusing on developing the core features of EasySocial.

You can contact the team from Mijo to see if they can develop applications for EasySocial instead.

Jason's right. I've got some extensions I think would be cool to have integrated with EasySocial, but right now there are some major features of the core than need to be enhanced. Mijo video certainly looked pretty cool. So if I were you I'd contact the developer and wait some time for things to get in motion. Be sure to show them that ES is already doing quite well in the JED and such so that it entices them more to want to add support for this.

Hi Jason,

Yep, I sent them an email at the same time as posting here, will see what they say in their reply, really just checking with both companies to get an update as Mark had indicated in this thread initial contact may be made.

Good points Josh, I will certainly mention them in my response to any reply from Mijosoft.

You are right, MijoVideos looks cool and the 30% discount until 15th may make it worthwhile at £20 to take out a 6 month sub and play around with it, even if not integrated with ES at this time, until the EasySocial video section is up an running.

I am sure there will be overlapping features, but there may be additional benefits of having MijoVideos even with Videos in EasySocial, EB/ED/K and JReviews, if not it is only a small investment lost to remove MV later on.

Before making the purchase I'd be sure to check out all the other major video components. Mijo's seems to start off quite awesome, but I admit that it looks like a clone of YouTube.

Indeed Mark, I do like VideoJS features and platform, not sure what you are going to use but certainly plenty of ideas there to consider including.

I received the following reply from Ayse in MijoSoft:

"We're already working on the integration of MijoShop with EasySocial and will of course integrate MijoVideos asap."

It certainly looks like progress is being made for another EasySocial app (or 2) to be unveiled!

I tried to look up reviews for MijoVideo on the extension directory. It looks like all Mijosoft extensions have been removed due to fraudulent voting (UR10). I hope they get that sorted out since MijoVideo looks good, but it's always nice to have actual user feedback.

I wondered why I could not find them in JED today Justin, not good at all, I might just hold off on that subscription to MijoVideos, don't like people messing around with feedback. If the product is good enough people will buy it and spread the word (stackideas products are a perfect example!).

It might not hurt for Mijosoft to post a blog on their site to clear the air as to what happened, and how they plan on moving forward. It's rare that I'd purchase anything that's not listed on the Joomla Extensions directory.

Stackideas on the other hand ... well done!

JoomAce did the same thing quite some time ago (which MijoSoft branched off JoomAce).

This is the reply:

"That is a false claim and a blog post will be published if the discussions with JED won't succeed:"

LinkedIn Discussion

The link is to a discussion on what is happening and very useful for anyone who wants to know a bit more detail.

It seems AceShop and MijoShop have both been removed, AceShop for good and MijoShop currently under discussion between JED and Mijosoft.

Nice start for a video component, but as someone already mentioned it looks too much like youtube.
And with no reviews, I not likely to buy it.
