I have an installation of Wordpress4Joomla and want to switch to Easyblog - both migration possibilities have issues, though.

Trying to migrate directly from WP4J to EB on my primary (live) site moves all posts into EB, but removes all categories.

Exporting to an WP xml file and importing into EB on a subdomain for testing gives me a stack of "invalid items - skiped" first, then the blog posts (number more or less matches the actual number of posts in the blog), but does not transfer any images. The image URLs are still the ones from my primary site, but the images do not show even though the URLs are correct.

I'm happy with using the export to xml and import migration possibility, but there needs to be a way to also include the images. Documentation states that the media files need to be copied manually, but not to where they should be copied or moved, and that won't work anyways if the image URLs are not changed too...
Yes, it is the correct behavior, the image URL still will remain the same because the migration will not automatically migrate the image to the Easyblog.

If you do not want to load your WordPress domain in your blog post, this is the step you need to do before migrating:
- Copy this folder /wp-content/uploads/ (if this is your WordPress media storage path) from your WordPress directory folder.
- Move this folder to your Joomla root folder e.g. JoomlaRootFolder/wp-content/...
- After you have done this, then you have to edit your XML file, replace this path from https://wordpresssite.com/wp-content/uploads/ to https://joomlasite.com/wp-content/uploads/
- Then only run the migration
