Hello,
i have a website based on socialengine and i am looking to migrate it to easysocial, i was wandering if that can be possible !?

if a full migration of the database is not possible a simple import of the users data will help
any suggestion is welcome

kind regards
Hello Jan,

Unfortunately right now we do not have a "migrator" for Social Engine unfortunately By the way, I am actually quite interested to have a look at your current Social Engine setup and would love to understand why you decided to make the jump to EasySocial.

Would it be possible for you to reach me on Skype to discuss about this? My Skype id is marklee_777

Hello Mark, thank you for your interest
socialengine was really a bad choice in the past (3 years ago), its a great product but so heavy,
i dind know another social networking script, now after testin easysocial and the tons of customization possibilites i am impressed,
the speed more much higher then my socialengine web site.

i would like to transfer only some data to joomla such as email and custom fields for profils ..
i was wondering if will not install fresh easysocial website and invite my socialengine website members to register again

Ah I see. Thanks for the heads up on this. Unfortunately right now we do not have any migrator for migrating Social Engine data over to EasySocial Perhaps if you could find a migrator which helps you to migrate Social Engine data over to Joomla, that would work too.

I personally reckon that you request your members to re-register again to save you through these hassles.

Also, if I recall correctly Social Engine actually encodes their codes (I might be wrong here) so it's even more difficult for us

Hi Jan,

Thanks and once you've successfully migrate your data from SocialEngine into Joomla, do share with us how you do it or what tool you used for the migration.

Thanks and have a nice day!
Sam
