Hi Stack Team,

First of all thanks for the marvelous new EB5. I use your system on our company website and want to know if its possible to have a smooth transition between the EasyBlog 3.9.24862 to EasyBlog 5. Currently we are having lots of traffic and downtime of more than an hour is not an option.

What are your thoughts on this?

and also we use this feature for a news ticker

does the easy blog do any changes on this customization that was provided by the team?
Hi Christian Sosa,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I would like to suggest you open a test site then install it and play around Easyblog5, so that you can see how the Easyblog 5 look like, if everything okay, you have to backup all your 3.9 site data before you upgrade to Easyblog5, this will be safe.

Regarding with your second question, we do have our own Easyblog ticker module, perhaps you can play around with this and see is it meet your current requirement?

Keep us updated then.

Hello Christian,

You would want to migrate all the database tables of jos_easyblog_* into your staging database. Then, install EasyBlog 5 on your staging site

@Mark I will create a test environment of my current site and test the migration in it a few times, until i get it right, then implement it on the live site following the procedure. Depending on my outcome will post on the forums the steps that worked with me.
