Hi there

I have easyblog on my J2.5 site (version 3.9.18967). I am moving everything to a new J3 site and want to transfer everything over.

Questions:

1. I just installed the component on the J3 site and it went smoothly; however, then I read the migration instructions for upgrading from another site and it looks like I need to uninstall it from my J3 site? Can I just unistall through the joomla admin?

2 .From your migration instructions, it looks like I need to first upgrade EB to the latest version on my J 2.5 site, but I'm wondering how I do that without wrecking my live site...since my live site is 2.5, I'm assuming EB latest version is not compatible with J 2..5?

3. Finally, I am using SP transfer to move things from one site to another. Do you think this will work for moving the EB tables?

Thanks:)
hey there,

Yes, the current latest version of Easyblog still compatible with Joomla 2.5 as well and you can also uninstalled the Easyblog through Joomla admin backend page.

Actually both method also can :

1. Update your Easyblog to latest version from Joomla 2.5 first then only move all the existing Easyblog table over to Joomla 3.x

2. Move all the existing Easyblog table over to Joomla 3.x first then only install Easyblog.

3. Finally, I am using SP transfer to move things from one site to another. Do you think this will work for moving the EB tables?

Yes, it will work as long as the SP transfer will move all the existing Easyblog table from your old database to new database.
