I work as an SEO consultant for a reputable SEO agency. Nofollowing your pagination links in a blog is really not a good idea. This breaks the chain of link juice following to subsequent pages of your blog full of important blog posts. Really you shouldnt nofollow any internal pages except in rare cases (you want to keep Google out, its a thin page without any navigation, its your search or login page)

Pagination on easyblog could be improved by
Introducing rel="next" and rel="prev" to content all pages in the pagination
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/09/pagination-with-relnext-and-relprev.html

Additionally the meta descriptions for page 2, 3,... should be at least slightly different than for the main blog URL. This could be done just by adding "- Page [x]" to the end of the meta description.

how can we achieve for Blog Pagination a different Meta Descriptions?

Title and Description for Pagination Pages 2. 3,..should be different from main Blog Url!
actually the correct way would be to have noindex, follow on these pagination pages, then you also need no additional meta description.
it makes really no sense to have a google search result .../blog/page1 as this tells nothing about the page at all and as you go with adding new posts these pagination pages will always have different blog posts listed. therefore noindex, follow is the way to go - here the spider will check the next page and only index the entries itself.

hope that helps

i think there are different needs..some would add a no follow other need different Metas, because all of my following pages have different content with different Pagination Title within a single blog.
menu/blogtitel/page-2 is on my blogs more a chapter like a book menu/blogtitel/chapter-2 tells a story wich follows the first page in single blogs but with different content and the Plugin Pagination code shows also a different Title on each page.
