Hi SI Support Team,

I just installed a fresh version of Joomla, EasyBlog, and a new template on one of my sites. I set up my main menu with the correct menu items for EasyBlog. It appears that the main menu and the EasyBlog toolbar are generating different URLs. Here's an example:

Main Menu URLs (how I'd like the URLs to look)
/
/categories
/tags
/bloggers
/teamblog

Toolbar URLs (do not like these)
/easyblog
/categories/categories
/tags/tags
/bloggers/blogger
/teamblogs/teamblog

It gets way worse whenever you try to select blogs, tags, categories, etc. The URLs don't seem to make much sense. Any idea what's going on here? I've had this issue in the past so I'd love it if you can tell me exactly how to fix it so I can handle this myself the next time it comes up. If I need to make changes through phpAdmin, please let me know which table to look for.

Thanks for the help!
Hello Mel,

Thanks for using our product.
Your issue with EasyBlog is when clicking EasyBlog toolbar, it generating different url than the menu item. You want EasyBlog toolbar to use the same url as menu item. I have fixed this issue on your site. Can you check it for me is this issue is resolved? Here my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/Q5Q8O7j6 .
To do this, I have configure a setting inside your EasyBlog. I have set the EasyBlog SEO to use menu itemid as shown in this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/FjkitqES . You can find this in Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > Settings > SEO > Advance Settings. If you have anymore question, please don't hesitate to ask us.

Hope this will help.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for the reply. Now the categories do not seem to be working. For example, if you click on "Categories" in the main menu and select a category, the URL is /latest and an error "Sorry but we couldn't find the blog entry that you are looking for" is displayed. Any ideas?

Thanks!

The tags don't seem to work either. If you select a tag, it just displays the front page layout.

Hello Mel,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I have check your site and it seems like you're using the same alias for your menu item as EasyBlog item. For example, this categories menu item alias: http://screencast.com/t/oSxNOBPS9 is the same as EasyBlog categories view alias: http://screencast.com/t/gkYIiDwk . By having the same alias, Joomla got confused and do not know which one should Joomla use either menu item alias or easyblog categories view. That was the reason why Joomla cannot get the correct page when you click on the categories.

My suggestion for this issue is you need to give another alias name to the menu item. I have helped you change menu item alias name as categories = category, tags = tag, blogger = bloggers and teamblog = teamblogs. Now it is working correctly. Can you check it for me and please do update us back.

Hope this will work.
Thanks.
