Membership assignment

Hi guys

We are currently looking to create a free membership to users who select a certain box on sign up.
https://thehuntingnoticeboard.com/index.php/registration

If you go to the above link you will find the question near the bottom asking: "Your involvement with hunting past and present, please tick the most appropriate box:" We want to be able to assign people to certain memberships based on what they select on the application. So if they click "Hunt Staff" or "Hunt Photographer" they're applied to the free plan. And anyone else who selects the other options will be assigned to the paid plan.

How do we go about setting this up?

Hi Katie,

Unfortunately this is not possible. EasySocial integrates with PayPlans in terms of profile types. This means in order to change a user's plan, the profile type must be changed as well.

Since selecting an option in a custom field does not change a user's profile type, it will not trigger plan change for the user.

EDIT: How about instead of a custom field in the registration page, you let users choose them at plan page itself? http://take.ms/SzrJw

How can we change a users profile type based on an option they select on application?

Hey Katie,

Do you mean change the profile type based on an option selected in a custom field? Unfortunately this is not possible as well.

Profile types can only be changed by changing plans and plans can only be changed by changing profile types. To summarize, custom fields cannot be used to change plans or profile types.
