Hi

Can you pls tell me where MediaMan get the file list?
Unfortunately there is no indication in the page, and to bypass server filesize-upload limitations, I want to upload via FTP, and then include the media in my post.

Thanks
Hey there,

Unfortunately that is not possible to upload through the FTP is because Easyblog will resize to different sizes of that uploaded image e.g. icon, small, medium, large, thumbnail and original.

If you straight away to upload through the Easyblog default storage path here 'my media' JoomlaFolder/images/easyblog_images/userId/image-files , it will not load those image from the media manager.

Hi

Thanks for your feedback.
There is no such folder under /images/ (see attached), do I need to create it?

There must be a way to upload files with FTP and tell EBlog, I need to overcome the 8Mb limitation.

Thanks

Is it your current hosting didn't allow you to change the upload file size limit from the server php.ini file?

By default, it will not show these following folders into this /images/ directory, but when you upload an image file through the media manager under (This post, my media section), the system will automatically create these folder.

/images/easyblog_articles/ - this folder will store the post image
i/mages/easyblog_images/ - this folder will store your 'my media' image

Either you manually create this 'easyblog_images' and create another new folder for your user id (e.g. https://take.ms/yv2NP)

Or you can upload less than 8MB image file under this 'My media' section (https://take.ms/Guimz) from media manager.

Hi Arlex

Thanks, but my problem is not about an image, but a video.
If I add Bloc > Video in my post, it won't upload because size-limit is 8Mb , and I can't change it.

So how do I add a video to my post?

Thanks

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

If your PHP server did configured these PHP values `upload_max_filesize`, `post_max_size` more than 8M , you have to ensure that this upload file size setting set to higher from backend > Easyblog > setting > media > Maximum upload file size .

If your server already restricted only allow 8M , then you can manually upload one of the file from your media manager, remember upload it at `My media` section (screenshot : https://take.ms/2Qf4h ), so it will automatically generated this folder path -> /mages/easyblog_images/userId/ , then you can manually upload those video file here.

Hi Arlex

Thanks for your reply, but I still have the same problem.
I've uploaded my file MP4 under 'My Media' but it won't upload (see attached).

I cannot change the 8Mb limitation.

Please advise.

Thanks

Hi

Sorry , I'm under NDA with the client so I can't hare backend access.

When I goto 'my media' I start the upload, the progress indication starts, then when it reaches 100%, I get it fail - see the scr shot which I've shared with you.

I's a shame that I can't upload a video via FTP, and then tell EBloag to fetch it.

Kind regards

No problem.

Can you share this following details and screenshot to me so we can better to know whether related with this kind of issue or not.

1. Check your PHP information from backend > system > system information > PHP information , what is these following PHP directory value you set currently on your server.
- upload_max_filesize
- post_max_size

- provide us screenshot as well

2. Check on PHP information page for the GD library and see whether got enabled it on server or not.

3. Can you screenshot to me what value you set this setting 'Maximum upload file size' from backend > Easyblog > setting > media > general
- provide us screenshot as well

Correct me if I understand wrongly. do you mean you would like to upload your local/internal video file from your computer to your FTP server (Joomla root folder)?

If yes, it should be possible to do this.

1. Check your current login user ID from backend > user > manage
2. Manually create this folder 'easyblog_images' under JoomlaFolder/mages/
3. Manually create another new folder 'userid'(folder name) under JoomlaFolder/images/easyblog_images/
4. Copy over those internal video under this folder JoomlaFolder/images/easyblog_images/userid/
