Hi there,

I recently purchased the community edition of EasyBlog and am having some problems regarding image sizes and media insertion when creating/editing a blog entry.

The site installation has the following components:

Joomla 2.5.8
Template: Yootheme Nano2 1.0.1 with Widgetkit v1.3.2
Editor: JCE v 2.3.0
Easyblog: 3.7.13830

1.
Uploading and selecting a blog image via the Easyblog media manager is successful.
Uploading/selecting an image via the insert media or embed video buttons appears successful (in the case of an image it is reported as "item inserted") however in both cases nothing is inserted into the post.

I only discovered the above whilst trying different things to get the following to work:
2.
Uploading an image with dimensions of 860x307 via the Easyblog media manager when creating (or editing a post) creates 5 versions of the file for various purposes.
The original named version (test4.jpg) retains the original dimensions however the one being used in the post is named 2e1ax_default_entry_test4.jpg
which has dimensions of 600x214 (which is also actually 146KB compared to the original upload size of 108KB)
I require the original image dimensions to be used for the post and would rather the media manager didn't make my files larger in the process.

The following are the related settings (I believe):
Settings > Media > General > Resize Original Image = No (max width/height = 1280x960)
Settings > Media > Media Manager > Enforce image dimension by default = No (enforce width/height = 860x307)

I have tried enabling then disabling these options and then deleting and re-uploading two different images of 860x307 and larger with the same result.

As there seemed to be an issue with the general functionality of the media manager I reinstalled Easyblog (successfully) however there is no change in the behaviour.

3.
Whilst investigating this I noticed that for two uploads there appears to have been 1 version created for each of the 7 installed easyblog themes:

0007.jpg
2e1ax_plain_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_bluedream_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_bubbles_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_carbon_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_default_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_nomad_entry_0007.jpg
2e1ax_origami_entry_0007.jpg

Is this normal behaviour?

4. Finally, when editing a post there are two options "Apply" and "Update Post" can you tell me what the functional difference is between the two?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Hi Mark,

I am using the current version of Easyblog and my users have the same issue like mentioned in topic one. My users can embed a few images in their blog but suddenly they seem not to be allowed to embed further ones. This is only happening for registered users.....

Do you have any idea? is it an issue of my settings?

Thanks for your support!

Hello Horst,

It seems that System - jomCDN was causing this, i had disabled > clean cache > enabled again and media manager works fine now.
Please have a look, do tell us if you have problems.

Thanks:)

Hello Kairul,

I just tried if the issue is really "fixed" but the problem is still available. It seems to be an issue regarding the rights of users (not based on the CDN plugin) because e.g. the issue exists only for the registered user group - if I switch the user to the author group he is able to embed photos again. It is the same issue like Gary mentioned in his 1st posting in this thread.

Thanks

Horst

Hello Horst Fuchs,

I'm sorry that delayed of this reply,
Correct me If I'm getting wrong your issues, do you mean that only the registered group user can't able to insert the image from the media manager right?
If yes, i have checked in your JCE setting > Editor Profile > Default > User Group > Tick the Registered user group , see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/WKvubiVyc1B
After you done that setting, then the registered user is able to insert the image from media manager now.

Best Regards
Arlex
