When posting in EasySocial, many top-level domains are not recognized as links.
For example, I can not post a link to this site that we're launching this week: http://city.live or http://city.live/en/english
The same goes for http://zec.today

I've tried to have the "Check For Valid URL Before Parsing" function both on and off.

How can we make the site recognize links ending with .live .today .consulting .community and maybe a few more?
Try download my attached file and replace into :
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/bbcode/adapters/decoda/library/hooks/ClickableHook.php
JoomlaFolder/media/com_easysocial/scripts/site/story/links.js

Then temporary turn on development mode from backend > Easysocial > settings > general > system > System Environment - Development

Then try share again this link again http://city.live from your Easysocial story panel, it will populate the link now.

But unfortunately this link http://zec.today unable to retrieve the data, for some reason this site do not have the header data from the frontpage.

Hi Arlex!

Yes, that populated the link city.live where it has been used.
However, when I put the page back in production mode it doesn't seem to recognize http://city.live as a link anymore, or at least it doesn't go into "link-mode" when I type it in.

Also, it doesn't get any information from the site to show as a preview, just a blank square https://snag.gy/8xaryP.jpg
When I share the same link on facebook, it looks like this: https://snag.gy/JYaStb.jpg
Any idea why?

hey Andre,

The reason why you switch back to `Production` it won't work is because I provided those fix is actually under js file, perhaps you can provide us with your FTP access so I can help you re-compile again the JavaScript from your site?

I believe that is different crawler method we use, but I just tried in my locally, it should populate the image, you can check my attached screenshot below.

Perhaps once you updated us with your FTP access, I will check again.

Hey Andre,

I've checked in your site, it seems like that is because of your existing SSL site preventing those non-https secure link populate the content on your site, you can take a look of my attached screenshot below.

May i know this website (http://city.live/en/english) is it developed from you? If yes, perhaps you can consider upgrade this site (http://city.live/en/english) to support SSL?

Hi again!

You ask "May i know this website (http://city.live/en/english) is it developed from you? If yes, perhaps you can consider upgrade this site (http://city.live/en/english) to support SSL?"
Yes, it's developed by us, and yes we can (and will) upgrade the site to support SSL.

However, this raises a different question: Will this happen to other sites/links that are not https?
If so, this is a big problem.

Yes, if you try to share links that are not http, then those images served would also be from non https source.
