I am using EasyBlock on a preschool website and we using category blogs and restricing access by using Joomla groups. The director of the school wants the parent to receive notification emails everytime a new blog is posted to their category and the best way I can think of to ensure this is through subscriptions. The director also wants to be able to manage subscriptions from the backend only and wants to set up category subscriptions for all parents. I searched the forum and found the post linked below that notes this is not a possible to add category subscriptions from the back end but it can be done by editing the database. Where can I find instructions on editing the database? I have not set up the users on the site yet or and subscribers but would like instructions that I can follow once I do set them up.

Thanks
Joye

hey there,

Currently that was no easy way to auto create subscriber for specify category from backend.

I have a few question :
1. May i know do you have any subscriber on your Easyblog site now?
2. Is it you would like to import those subscriber only for 1 category?

By the way, the faster way, you have to manually key in the value in your database under this table `#__easyblog_subscriptions` and take a look of my attached screenshot below.

Thanks. The screenshot is very helpful. I have no subscribers yet because we have not launched the blog or set up the user account yet. When I create the user accounts, I want to be able to give them access to the blog category and set up their subscriptions so they get email notifications. Also, I want them all to have access to multiple categories. Do I need to separate the categories in the table with commas?

You're welcome.

Oh, you have to create another new record for it, check my attached screenshot below.
