I have two view of a forum
This one I like
http://c30sail.com/forum/main-message-board
This one I do not like.
http://c30sail.com/forum/main-message-board
How do I get it compact like the first one. How do I get the categories with no entries from becoming huge.

David
Hi there,

I am afraid i didnt get you here. Based on your given links, both are same link. Maybe you can provide us with better explanation by giving us links and maybe some screenshot on what you wanted to achieved above. Please advice

I sent you the same link twice - sorry.
This is the second link
http://c30sail.com/forum/main-message-board/message-board/technical-forrum
These are screen shots of the two views.
The Technical Forum listings are much taller than the Message Board listing.
I want to get as many items on the screen with the Technical Forum as I can.

Hi there,

It seems that we cant achieved that currently, as the second view, is shown based on specific categories, viewed as single category, as for example, 'TECHNICAL FORUM', only have one post in it, it will shown only one post and it will not shown any post posted on it sub-categories or other categories.

And for forums views, it will shown all post created under it main category included sub-categories in that main categories. Please advice.

Thanks for your understanding

I am having trouble following your english. If you look at the Technical Forum view and look at the Docking item, it is nearly triple the vertical height even though it has nothing under it. All empty categoris are very high. Why can't that be fixed?

Hi there,

It seems that i have miss-understand your requirement here. Is it you wanted to shown "All empty categories" smaller?
If yes, you can achieved that by doing css template override on codes below at this path /templates/Your current template/css/custom.css. Please give it a try and see how it goes

#ed .o-empty {
min-height: 100px !important;
}
