How do I make the forum layout look like the easydiscuss demo? I looked around in the documentation and forum but couldn't find a guide or tutorial.

I especially want to make the login form like the demo version. Tried using the "EasyDiscussion Welcome"-module, but it still has the same layout and colour as the standard joomla login form.
Hey there,

If you really wish to make your forum layout look like the easydiscuss demo, I strongly suggest you to use Elegant template.

You can check it out on my attached screenshot to have look on my local site with Elegant template.

You also try it out on our Elegant demo site. http://elegant.stackideas.com/

I don't have the elegant template, the templates I can choose between are dark, flatt, pinter, simplistic, timeless, wireframe and zinc. And it seems as not matter what template I choose, the welcome module still basically looks the same.

Hey Mu Kossa,

The Elegant template is a "Joomla" template and not the component theme. The module would inherit the style of what your Joomla template looks like. I have checked your site at http://marineforum.se/ and it is actually running the stock Joomla template.

You have several choices, you could download and install other Joomla templates that would make your site look better or if you want the exact same layout as http://easydiscuss.stackideas.com/ , you can get one of our Joomla templates from https://stackideas.com/joomla-templates

Ok, then I understand. But the elegant template is $59, so I should spend even more money just to make my forum look like in the demo? I assumed that when paying $79 for Easydicuss, that I would be able to make my forum look like your demo.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I would said different template have their own different structure and styling, if you only want to show the Easydiscuss welcome module styling similar like our demo site (screenshot : http://take.ms/pRNSm ), perhaps you can update your site backend and FTP access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so I can better have a check and see whether your current template got override some styling under this module?

No worries. I installed astroid framework so now I'll try to customize the layout the way I want it.

However, now my question has changed a bit. The easydiscussion welcome module formatting looks a little messy when using it with astroid. Is it possible to fix this? Mainly the text inside it that looks misaligned and a bit off.

I've applied some custom css under your site backend > Easydiscuss > theme > custom css , can you give it a check and see whether it show correctly now?

body #ed.ed-mod.m-welcome label {
margin-bottom: -3px;
}

body #ed.ed-mod.m-welcome .btn-primary {
margin-top: 5px;
}

Hey there,

Can you clear all your cache or use other browsers which never access your site to access your site to see changes?

Sorry for my late reply. I could see some difference, but I think the text is bigger now, compared to how it was before I installed astroid.

This is what I would like for the login module (if possible)
- "Remember me" text to be a smaller
- Some spacing betweeen "remember me" and "sign in" so that it's easier to read.
- "Forgot password" and "create account" to be smaller

Hey there,

It seems that when I was trying to access your backend, I can't log in into it with the username and password that you provided.

Can you add the following CSS code into Backend > EasyDiscuss > Themes > Custom CSS and see how it goes:

body #ed.ed-mod.m-welcome .form-inline label {
margin-bottom: -3px;
font-size: 12px;
}

body #ed.ed-mod.m-welcome .form-inline{
margin-bottom: 8px;
margin-top: 10px;
}

body #ed.ed-mod.m-welcome .ed-mod__section .account-register{
margin-top: 10px;
font-size: 12px;
}

Do clear all your cache before you see the changes.
