Hello,

I'm a Joomla novice. I have a blog on a client's site that is very private. Most options are turned off. Users can only read and comment. I want to use Mailchimp integration only to have the user list imported into Mailchimp. I have added API- and Listkeys. What's next? How do users end up in mijn Mailchimp list? Because I don't yet see any...What option do I maybe need to activate?

Thanks!

Bas
Hello,

When you integrate with Mailchimp, whenever a new user clicks on the Subscribe link, they will automatically be inserted into the Mailchimp list. As for your existing users, you will probably need to import them manually into Mailchimp as EasyBlog doesn't actually send the old data over.

Thanks Mark,

I'm not using a subscribe button. The owner wants to add users manually from the backend . I guess I could make an admin page that features such a button/link ?

Hello,

If you are using Mailchimp, you can't add them on your Joomla site. You need to add them via Mailchimp's list.

Hello Mark,

What I want is for my client to
1. login to Joomla
2. click somewhere to add a new user (so users cannot subscribe themselves).
-This user will recieve login-info to read the blog.
-The user will automatically be added to Mailchimp list.

How do I go about his? I tried making a new menu-item but a register/subscribe menu-item type is not available.
Using a standard registrationform won't work when logged in. It will show an 'update your profile' form.

thnx! Bas

hello B Kleverlaan,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
Unfortunately that was not possible to do this when you created a new user from backend, it will not automatically add the new user in mailchimp list.

I'm a little bit lost here regarding with your second question :
How do I go about his? I tried making a new menu-item but a register/subscribe menu-item type is not available.
Using a standard registrationform won't work when logged in. It will show an 'update your profile' form.

Can you elaborate more details regarding this? Please advise.

Hi Alex,

What I basically need is an admin page, hidden behind the Joomla Login where my client can add new users/subscribers that will automatically be added to the Mailchimp-list.

thnx! Bas

hello B Kleverlaan,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Anyway, it's advisable that you do not "automatically subscribe" users to your list because Mailchimp does perform double opt-in checks and most of the time, these user's wouldn't be subscribed.
