Hi,

I recently both EasyBlog and it is a nice and easy blog to use, I like it.
I have now tried to configure the Mailbox posting but with no luck.

no mails are coming in?

See configuration in attached images
Hey Thomas,

Looks like there's a bug with the quick posting for photo. We'll fix this in the next release. As for the cronjob, you need to double check with your web host about this. You cannot remove the quotes from the cron command because anything after the & character will be excluded.

hey Thomas,

Thanks for your feedback. Hope you will enjoy when you using Easyblog.

Regarding with your issue here, you have to check 2 things :
#1. Your mail server settings is it configure correctly in Easyblog? e.g. port, username and password
#2. Your cron command is it setup correctly

If above 2 thing you checked, everything is work fine, can you provide us with your Joomla backend, Cpanel access so we can better have a look?

By the way, in the future you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies

Warning
Inloggning nekad! Ditt konto är antingen blockerat, eller så har du inte aktiverat kontot än.

Also can you provide us with your Cpanel access as well? Because I would like to test wget you set up is it correct or not.

Looking forward of your response.

Hey Thomas,

I've tested post via email, it seems work fine for me.

May i know did you put this title prefix in your email title? e.g. [blogg]Your blog title

Check my screenshot below.

Because I noticed you added this title prefix from your backend Easyblog remote publishing configuration page, so you have to follow this title prefix, if not, the system will not pull these email into your Easyblog.

Second, I am not sure your cron command is it setup correctly or not without access in your Cpanel, how I test is manually run this cron URL http://yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron so it will search in your mailbox is there got any email title include this title prefix `[blogg]`, if got, it will send to your Easyblog.

Hey Thomas,

I've tried to login from https://www.directadmin.com and directly access as you provided that link, but it seems like you provided that login credential is not working

Okay, let try this instruction to test your cron command is it work fine or not :
#1. Go to your cronjob configuration page > insert your email address in cron mail field > save >
#2. Edit your cron minute to */1 e.g.
#3. Check your mailbox and see is it got your server response email after 1 or 2 minute
#4. If got, open and see if there listed connected, which mean that it setup correctly.
#5. After you confirm everything is setup correctly, then revert back that cron minute to */5

#6. Send a email and the email title must use this prefix e.g. [blogg]Your blog title
#7. Wait for 5 ~ 10 minute, and see is it got receive this post in your Easyblog.

hey Thomas,

I've checked with your cron command, it seems like you configure that wget path is not correct, the following error is come from your server.
/bin/sh: usr/bin/wget: No such file or directory

You will need to get the correct path to "wget" from your webhosting provider, because not every hosting has it in /usr/bin/wget

Hi,
Ok, but the funny thing is tha an email I posted arrived after about 15 minutes?

In my directadmin I have a Sample cron commands: (And one of them is /user/bin/wget ...)
/usr/local/bin/php /home/rfhlstoc/domains/domain.com/public_html/script.php
/usr/local/bin/curl --silent http://www.domain.com/cron.php > /dev/null
/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null http://www.domain.com/cron.php

This is what i have put in the Command field: /usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null http://rfhlstockholm.se/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron

Hey Thomas,

I believe that was because you have enabled this `send email on page load` settings from your Easyblog backend, you can take a look of my screenshot below. Actually this feature is similar purpose like process the email to your user, but this will only process when the user visit on your Easyblog page.

By the way, I've disable this option from your Easyblog backend, so it shouldn't process any email unless you setup correct wget path in your cronjob. May i know did you consult with your webhosting provider regarding what is the correct wget path on your server yet?

hey Thomas,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

You can ask your webhosting provider regarding this question :

When I tried to follow the sample cron commands below, but I still hitting this error when the server return back the response :

// my current cron command
/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://domain.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron"

// Server response
/usr/bin/wget: /usr/bin/wget: No such file or directory

May i know what is the correct wget path in your server?

Hi again I forgot to tell you that the quick function for writing a blogpost is redirecting me to the statistic page?

Can you point us which page you using the quick function for writing a blog post?

But what i noticed is even I set every minute process cronjob in your site, the new blog pending email also didn't send out.
That was strange, may i know do you have any other cronjob configuration can setup instead of directAdmin?
Example : https://www.easycron.com/

Hi, yes

No I dont have any other cronjob?

Question: We notice that after a wile it seems tha easyblog times out even if you active on the post? It reasulted in that we hade write the post al over again. Is there a a way to fix that?

Question: We also notes that when using the quick post function and using upload photos and pasting a text in the editor it and when saving it destroys the layout. All of the paragraph's Classification? To fix that we hade to go in and reedit the post.

Regars

Hey Thomas,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply as we are a little occupied with our own internal development. Please find the response to your inquiries below:

Question: We notice that after a wile it seems tha easyblog times out even if you active on the post? It reasulted in that we hade write the post al over again. Is there a a way to fix that?

By default, the composer actually performs a ping back to the server to avoid your session being dropped by Joomla. You can however increase the life time of each session under the Global Configuration area.

Question: We also notes that when using the quick post function and using upload photos and pasting a text in the editor it and when saving it destroys the layout. All of the paragraph's Classification? To fix that we hade to go in and reedit the post.

I am not sure what you mean by "destroy" the layout. Can you please elaborate more on this?

As for your mailbox postings, your cron is incorrect. Without the quotes, your site is only connecting to http://rfhlstockholm.se/index.php?option=com_easyblog and not the url of http://rfhlstockholm.se/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron . If you noticed the response that Arlex posted earlier, it's missing the part "&task=cron". You need to check with your hosting provider about this.

Hi, thanks!

1. My webhost told me to not use the qoutes?
2. Yes I have change the time for sessons
3. Se exampel below:

This is the correct one:

Vestibulum dictum dui ligula, at imperdiet arcu ultricies vel. Suspendisse vitae efficitur ipsum, quis fermentum mauris.

In molestie, lectus id posuere posuere, elit elit sollicitudin augue, sodales dapibus sem nunc at neque.

This is how it shows when using the quick post photo upload (no paragraphs) :

Vestibulum dictum dui ligula, at imperdiet arcu ultricies vel. Suspendisse vitae efficitur ipsum, quis fermentum mauris.
In molestie, lectus id posuere posuere, elit elit sollicitudin augue, sodales dapibus sem nunc at neque.
