Looking for Feedback and Ideas for EasySocial, EasyDiscuss, EasyBlog site with YooRecipes as well

I hope it is ok to post this. I have a site that I have almost finished preparing before I can invite some people in to stress it a bit before officially announcing it is launched.
The site is located at http://Starch-Smart.com

It consists of the following:

Home: A page to hopefully feature something from EasySocial, EasyDiscuss, EasyBlog and YooRecipes each in separate rows of the grid. I am hoping for it to be like the latest items posted.
Social: This is the EasySocial Component
Discuss: This is the EasyDiscuss Component
Recipe: This is the YooRecipe Component
Feed: These are RSS newsfeeds from other sites
Blog: This is the EasyBlog Component


Please give me suggestions for what you would suggest that I do on each of the StackIdeas software following pages:

PS. I wonder if this isn't a good idea for a section of the site where people could post what they are working on and have discussions about it? I guess I will find out very soon whether this idea works or not. :-)

I think this line-up is pretty good in my opinion and a word of advise, you should keep it as simple as possible

Hi Sean,

I agree, keep it simple.

I've only been able to look on a mobile, but two things stand out.

1. I would get a logo created. I don't know if it is just because of the mobile view, but the site name is just text. Branding is important!

2. Again about branding, I am seeing "EasyDiscuss", "YouRecipies", "EasyBlog" etc. whilst I'm sure the stack guys appreciate the free advertising, this is YOUR website

Agreed! Logo is important as that is your brand and you want others to remember how it looks like And agree to those "EasyDiscuss", "EasyBlog" wordings too. It's good to have those words as it's a publicity for us but it's not really good for the site and we would rather have your site look decent and nice

I appreciate the great advice. I will work on putting up a logo today. I have a very nice one. :-)

I will also remove the EasyBlog name from the various modules. i was planning to do that but for now while placing modules just left it there. But, you are right, it is time to clean that up.

Simplicity is good and I am doing my best to keep it simple.

The only place where I am wanting to have a variety is on the home page but I just want to have a little bit of each sections content showing on the home page.

I am hoping to hear what modules people would suggest for displaying some content from EasySocial on the home page and what modules would be suggested to display some content from EasyDiscuss on the home page and the same for EasyBlog. Although i believe I am OK with EasyBlog because I found the image wall. :-)

That said I will work to make it minimal content on the homepage and reduce the clutter. :-)

You are most welcome Sean. Overall, I think the site itself looks pretty great but lack of content. You may want to flood it with contents. After all, Content is King

Yes, I am trying to get it operational and then I plan and asking a bunch of people to help me fill it with content. :-) :-)

But, I do have to preload a bunch myself.
