Login with Mobile Number

Hi SI Team,

We already have Login options by using either username or email.
Is it possible to allow users to login using their mobile number? How can it be achieved? any easy hacks?

This would help a lot of ES users as majority of traffic is moving onto mobile devices and remembering username/email is becoming redundant on mobile platforms.

Unfortunately, there Is it not possible to allow users to login using their mobile number currently. Maybe for the next update, we can add this features.

I think you meant there is no way from me to achieve this myself (might be true;) ),

but its possible if the user voice gets accepted, am i right in my understanding?

In case you are using usernames instead of real names, why not rename the field name to phone number? But I see no use in this as long as you have no check for the phone number which might be hard to achieve...

Hi Sabih,

Thanks for the heads up. If we would want to implement this, we need to add a new algorithm and settings so that user can choose to login via username, email, full name, or phone number. However it is quite hard to achieve this currently especially with the privacy concern.
