Hi,

I have EasyDiscuss and EasySocial installed. I use EasySocial for all my logins. I have set it up so it is supposed to stay on the same page the user was on after they login, however this does not seem to work. Instead it redirects to the Dashboard.

The second problem is EasyDiscuss is setup to use EasySocial as the login provider, however it always forwards to the EasyDiscuss registration page when trying to post a new topic. I want it to go to the login page.

Can you please help me solve these 2 issues?

Thanks,

Daniel
Hello Daniel,

Thanks for the explanation. I've fixed it in your file.
../components/com_easysocial/views/login/view.html.php : the fix in this file will be included in the next release.
../components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/searchbar.php : This file, you will need to backup before upgrading Easydiscuss because this is only customised for your site.

One more thing I want to mention here is about your URL. I can see that you have disabled Easysocial menu item which lead to broken SEF in URL: http://screencast.com/t/jlNi8LA4f . The SEF URL should be like this: ...index.php/community/.. I've temporary enabled this menu item: http://screencast.com/t/PrEzMLYBVgYZ . If you okay with the previous URL, you can disabled back the menu item. Hope this helps.

Hello Daniel,

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issues here? Please advise.

Hi Nick,

I have added the required information in the Site Details section.

If you navigate to http://sandbox.brimbanklibraries.vic.gov.au/index.php/learning-hub/learning-and-information-exchange and then click "Post a Topic", you should be able to replicate the issue.

Regards,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

By default Easydiscuss will redirect user to registration page if it is not logged in. The Registration page you are seeing is the one from Easysocial. However, i've add a simple hack in ../components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/searchbar.php so that it will redirect to login page. Please have a look.

Hi Nick,

Okay the redirection to the login page works well now, but after logging in I am still forwarded to the EasySocial Dashboard. I want to be redirected to the page that I was originally on. Any fix for this?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

May I know where you logged in from? In Easysocial backend: Settings>User>Authentication , you can select the redirection.

Hi Nick,

Yes I have set that up correctly, see screenshot attached. If you want to replicate the problem, please follow the instructions below:
1. Go to http://sandbox.brimbanklibraries.vic.gov.au
2. Click on "Learning & Info. Exchange" in the top menu
3. Click on "Post a Topic" button
4. You are redirected to login. Once you are logged in you are taken to the dashboard instead of the "New Post" form in the forum

Thanks,

Daniel
