Hello Stack Support Team:

We ran into a problem with the Easy Discuss forum. It could be I have not configured something correctly.
NOTE: Members have to login as this is a private site.
When someone posts in the forum, an email is sent out about the post. The recipient can then select the Read Discuss button and it takes the user to the site.

We have the toolbar navigation set up.

If they login using the Login Form that is located below the toolbar, then they are taken directly to the post.

If they use the toolbar Login button, they are taken to the category of that post. The client would prefer the user go to the post.

What am I missing? I did not see in redirect in configuration for the toolbar button.

Thank you in advance for your assistance on how to resolve this.
Hi there,

When I was trying to access your backend, it gave me the following error:

Warning
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Just wondering, how did you do that to show it as shown in the screenshot so that I can try to replicate it on my local site?

Hello Irwin:

Thanks for your reply. I have been out of town but am now back in the office. I have updated the site details in the account. Your login should be fine now. My apologies.

The screenshot is the Easy Discuss menu option > Forum Layout > set to the Welcome layout. I really do not like it as it shows the categories folder in the toolbar even when someone is not logged in. I just could not figure out a better way.

Ultimately, I would like to make this process easy for the members, whether they are logging directly into the forum or if they are responding to a post or comment in an email.

Hi there,

Oh I see. For your information the Welcome layout that you mentioned is Welcome category instead of Welcome layout.

It seems that I am able to replicate it on my local site.

I will log this into our issue tracker.
