Dear Support / Easysocial users,

Site is in lockdown mode. SLL / https used. No redirection plugin installed. Not using the login module...the standard login/default.php layout used for login.

Problem: users after login are not redirected to the link (private messages, friends etc.) where they've clicked on the notification e-mail...they're constantly redirected to their dashboard.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Hello Jozsef,

It depends on where they are logging in from. If they are logging in from EasySocial's login form, In the back end settings of EasySocial under Settings > Users, you'll be able to set the login redirection behavior. If you are using a module to login, you need to alter the settings on the module

Dear Mark,

Thank you I'm aware of this setting. Users using EasySocial's login form and there's no option to forward them to the url from where they came from (just "stay on the same page" or a praticular menu point which is not ok).

Once again an example:
If they click on the "Manage Your Alerts" link in the notification email they're supposed to be get there after login.

It's pretty important (Jomsocial/Joomla worked in the same way...catched url's than forwarded after login) because older people usually can't find those settings and they clicked on that link to access that function...

Hope this clarifies a bit...

Hello Jozsef,

Hm, if I recall correctly EasySocial should respect what you set in your settings. If you set the settings to be "Stay on the same page" then when you access a "require login area", you should be able to be redirected to the appropriate page upon logging in. Not sure if this could be caused by the "lockdown mode" but can you help me by providing the following?

1. The url that you are trying to access
2. The username / password to the site
3. The ftp access

You can place these details under the form below

Hello,

Old question but still accurate

"Stay on the same page" setting works when you login from the toolbar. But when you are in Lockdown mode, and you click a link in a notification mail, or in a ES module (not being logged in), you are redirected to the login page, and after login, you are always redirected to the dashboard... Certainly not what users would expect!
