I've removed the restriction on the API but still it seems not to be working
Key restriction is set to none.

The Google Maps API server rejected your request. This API project is not authorized to use this API. Please ensure this API is activated in the Google Developers Console: https://console.developers.google.com/apis/api/static_maps_backend?project=_

Now getting this error, can you try re-setup again with the new API key from your Google account and follow my instruction and see how it goes?
