That was very difficult for us to troubleshoot this issue without FTP.

Perhaps you can request from your Webhosting provider regarding this matter?

FTP stands for file transfer protocol. This allows you to upload and download files from the web server. Giving Stackideas access to an FTP account allows them to debug and check why the comments are failing. By not giving them access to FTP is like asking a friend to fix your car without being able to see under the hood and diagnose it.

Most shared hosting sites allow you to create a ftp account in the cpanel. What are your options in the hosting panel of your site?

You don't need to be the one to have the FTP program as long as you create a FTP account on your hosting account. Creating this is similar to creating a blank database (effort wise).

The Stackideas team has been able to bail me out of just about every issue I've ever had. If they cannot get FTP information, they will not be able to access your site files. If they cannot access your files, they cannot help you. It's a physical limitation rather than a policy limitation. I strongly advise you check with your web host about getting FTP access. A good webhost should give you FTP access. If they do not, the host is not doing a good job at giving you the tools you need. If you cannot access your own site files and something goes wrong (could be on Joomla's end or if your site gets hacked) you will have absolutely no control over your site. Even if you hire a highly skilled professional.

You can always request a refund if your purchase was within 30 days. However I suggest looking into the FTP issue first.

I am my own hosting I have my server install by a pro at this time. No need FTP for transfer files, just a key usb lol. And yes it's a mess service. lol because i don't know anything beside to put my site online.

So I repeat no FTP, and I'm very very sorry about that.

I do have a radical idea of how to solve this. You could create a copy of your site files along with a SQL file with your database. Then you would need to put both in a zip file and then host it on a server (perhaps yours). The idea is to have the Stackideas team download the files and install a test directory with this.

I'm not sure if you feel comfortable with this or if the Stacked team is willing to do this. But if you are willing, it may be our best option. The only alternative to this method is extensive testing on your end. Could even be a template conflict or one with other extensions. I strongly suggest creating a test site.

I noted this problem for “load comment” appear when I put the parameter avatar phpbb3 on joomla integration. With gravatar I have not the problem

Alrighty then, now we need to hear from the staff about this proposed idea. They could test the phpbb avatar method to see if it works on their end before getting a copy of your site. They usually start replying to posts 3 hours and 14 minutes from when I posted this (10 a.m. is their official support time).

I had a surgery today and am now in a arm sling for 6-8 weeks. I'm currently typing with my non dominate hand and have a messed up finger which means less fingers to type with (4 total if you include my thumb). It also really doesn't help that I am under a lot of pain killers, hence why I am a bit dizzy/tied. Just explaining the delay on my end.

As for advise, I suggest temporarily disabling avatars so that commenting works and mentioning this to the Stacked team. If this is your only main issue, it's not worth removing a component based on a few days of an unresolved issue. I do however hope this gets looked into soon.

I wish you recover quickly. Me too I had a surgery last month, but the pain was manageable .

But I really disappoint because I just bought the pro version and that doesn’t work very well ( and me I don't have 20% off )

I do apologize if Arlex did installed any extension but I am not entirely sure what did Arlex installed on your site. I will check this with him again tomorrow.

Anyway, if you do not allow us to install anything on your site while still not providing us with the FTP access, I have no idea how to fix / provide you with a solution since we can't reproduce this error on our end.

You have a different setup compared to our local instances and for us to replicate the same exact settings on our local is close to impossible as the paths are different and we have no idea how is your PHPBB currently bridged to your Joomla site.

He installed something who allow him to see all my files included my files of php and allow him to see all my passwords , even those I didn’t give him.
I removed all and changed all my passwords.

It’s the last time I trust him. It’s unforgivable, because I warn him before, and he act like a swindler.

It’s okay for load comments, but the avatar is not display lol, so it’s not better. I can’t use the avatar phpbb.
Now I have a blank instead of the avatar. The fixes Mark did was better because the avatar still displaying.

It’s not good. I have a blank and another gray. But not the avatar phpbb. The configuration of avatar phpbb become useless with this. But it seem with 2.04 you have fix SQL error.

I am sorry to hear that the latest version of Komento still not solving your issue. However, we tested locally with phpBB version '3.1.5' and we cannot reproduce the error you are encountered. The best way to fix this issue is to directly debug at your site but of course, we do not what to mess with your live site. So I am wondering if you can setup a test site for us and mimic your live site data to this test site and provide us the ftp account to your test site so that it will speed up the troubleshooting process? By the way, which version of phpBB you are currently installed at your live site? Please advise.
