We have some comment threads that are 20+ comments.

I first noticed this stream post that had 25 comments, and at first it displays the last 5 of 25 comments (latest comments). When I click "Load More", it loads the last 15 of 25, from oldest to newest, but after about 20 seconds, the thread truncates down to 10 of 25, then 20 seconds later, it shrinks to 5 of 25, but it's not the most recent comments anymore. You are now seeing only 5 of 25 from the middle of the thread.

How can I fix this bug?
Hello Austin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've figured out why the notification update keeps on coming even there is no new stream available on your site. It seems like some of the stream activity is being logged in the future date compare to the current date which is 4th july 2015 as you can see from the screenshot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-11_1639.png .

What easysocial does is it will picked up the data that are not in the past and try to notify the user that the new update is available. When I store the activity stream into the archived as you can see from the screenshot earlier, the stream notification is no longer keep on coming. I have no idea why the date is not in the correct time but it should working fine now.

Keep us updated and see how it goes.

Hello Austin.

I am really sorry because I can't replicate your issue in my local. Can you provide us with joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on this issue directly?

Looking forward for your reply

Also, while sitting on the main dashboard page, "Fantom notifications" are popping up. Saying there are new updates, but when you click on either, it just refreshes to the same page with no new content... And no one else is logged in, so there shouldn't be new notifications...

Hi Austin Ramsdale,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Can you provide us one of the stream URL which contain 25 comments or above, so that we can test on this?

Regarding with your second issues, yes, by right it should not show the "new updated from feeds", because there is not new feed around.

By the way, I have tried to access in your FTP account, but i hitting this :
Response:	530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

For the stream, click on Everyone, or use the following link:

https://co.llective.com/index.php/everyone

and then about the fourth post down has 38 comments.

I'm updating the FTP details now. you will see them in my profile shortly.

Hello Austin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

For some reason I am not able to access your FTP now. Can you download the attachment below and place it inside your /components/com_easysocial/controllers/ folder and see how it goes?

Perfect. It appears to be sticking when you click Load More. It loads the extra comments, and does not shrink. Will do some additional testing around loading multiple threads.

Now the other problem around phantom notifications in the left Filter Navigation. Even though I've seen all of the latest notifications, once I switch back to the Dashboard, it slowly adds notifications to the "Everyone" option. It also pops up with "New updates from the feed", but when I click on it, there are no new updates. I'm the only user logged in.

Thank you!

Hello Austin,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Hm that's odd. Seems like it only happen on your site as I cannot replicate the issue in my local. Can you re-provide the FTP access as the current credentials seems not working for me. Please advise.

I have some additional info for this issue. I just got a badge notification on the status bar, which showed up correctly as 1 new notification. The "EVERYONE" filter on the left, however, keeps incrementing by one every minute or so. It's like there is a notification in the DB that is not being cleared out after being picked up by the json process...

Nice work detective!

You are absolutely right - I noticed my server date was incorrect for about 4 hours a couple of weeks ago when I was reviewing stats in cpanel. Those activities must have happened during this error, and caused the issue.

Thanks for figuring that out!
