I have just been experimenting with the Pages feature, and on my site, which is a motorcycle related site, we have users who can create riding events. I am also looking to create riding area pages which are a more permanent description of the resource. If there were a custom field in events that allowed a user to easily link to the riding area page it would be a nice feature. I am not a programmer, so am not sure how to create that myself.

Could be useful for specialty communities. Thanks.

Hello Gary,

Do you mean that you want users to have the ability to link to one of their page? We don't have such a custom field currently but what you could do instead, is to create a link field for the event category.

Then, the user just needs to copy and paste the link to the field when they edit the event

Actually I am setting up some site "pages" for riding areas. They are more of a resource for members. Members can create group rides and my thought was to include a custom filed, maybe using a drop down, that would allow them to link the new event directly to the riding area Page.

Copying and pasting the url for the riding area page works, but a custom field would be neat. I don't know if anyone else would see a use as my site is pretty topic focused.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am liking the new upgrades so far - lots of little changes. Seems to run faster than before too.

PS - is this template available in the easydiscuss package? I am using Kunena right now and like it for our members, but this template is really nice.

Thanks Gary, yep EasySocial 2.0 has a lot of smaller improvements that adds up to the user experience. Unfortunately this template is not available in EasyDiscuss as this is our own template for our site but the layout in EasyDiscuss looks more or less the same

We only create template overrides to achieve this.
