hi Si Team

The Blog Cover Image opens in a shadow box.
Images on the Blog open in a shadow box if I set this up correctly.
I can set up an image to go to a link and on a new page if necessary.

But as far as I can see within EB there is no way of opening a shadow box if I click on a link?

I actually have the JCE Media Manager (NoNumbers have something similar) but see no way of accessing this from the EB 5 interface.
Is there a way to get to the JCE Media Box Editor/NoNumbers Modals from EB5 so that I can implement shadow boxes?
Here is the Blog post I am talking about:

http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/528-youtube-red-2015-ground-zero-01

Last resort is there a way to switch from the EB5 Editor to a HTML editor.
I have some one who is prepared to walk me through inserting code.
Again as a last resort.

thanks

Paul

It is not possible to edit a post created with EasyBlog composer with another editor. If the post was created with the easyblog composer, it needs to be edited with the composer.

You can use the html block to insert html codes.

Hey Paul,

Unfortunately that was not possible to achieve this in Easyblog build-in composer, but you can switch back to use JCE editor from backend > Easyblog > settings > general > composer > Composer Editor - JCE Editor

Hey Arlex

I was afraid of that.
Do you happen to know is there a Plugin that allows me to switch editor PREFERABLY from the EB front end?
Something similar to this:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/editor-switcher

As far as I can tell the above is for the back end.
But one way or the other I do not see it turn up in the back end or front end.
Tried this on both EB 3.x posts and EB 5 posts. Back End/Front End.

I guess that the EB Editor will over write all of these "standard" switchers"any way?

best

Paul

hey Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Yes, Easyblog build-in editor is not same as Joomla default wysiwyg editor e.g. Tiny-MCE or JCE-editor.

Perhaps you can consult with JCE developer regarding this.

Hey Arlex

I already did

If I attempt to make a new post EB 5.x I do not see any of the JCE controls.

Is there a way to work with JCE Editor & EB 5.x +

I don't know, you would need to speak to StackIdeas about whether this version supports other editors.

With respect to switching from the front end they did say this

Hi Ryan

From SI:

you can switch back to use JCE editor from backend > Easyblog > settings > general > composer > Composer Editor - JCE Editor

Do you happen to know of a front end editor that allows people to switch editors whilst logged in to the Joomla front end?

best

Paul

answer with respect to front end editor:

There was, at one time, an extension that allowed you to switch editors by selecting the required one from a drop down list. I think it was called "Editor Switcher".

Which is what I found before:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/editor-switcher

The problem remains the same however:

JCE do not know if this is possible
SI does not know if this is possible

FYI I have switched the JCE Editor on as you instructed but no joy!

Any ideas how to proceed?

best

Hey Paul,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

FYI I have switched the JCE Editor on as you instructed but no joy!

I've checked in your frontend and open composer, it did display JCE editor, you can take a look of my screenshot below.

Do you mean you would like to use this switcher editor plugin? -> http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/editor-switcher , perhaps you can consult with this plugin provider regarding this, because this plugins is not developed by us.

Hey Arlex

Now I understand.
This works for new Blog Posts but not for old ones.
eg: http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/528-youtube-red-2015-ground-zero-01
Written in EB5
I can not switch this to JCE to add shadow boxes.

Is this normal?

thanks

If the post was written with the new composer, it is not possible to edit the post again with JCE.

hi Mark

Thanks for your reply.
I have another guy posting on my site and he is really keen to get shadow boxes working for links.
He actually has HTML skills so he could probably insert a shadow box with code.

a) Is it possible to switch to a HTML editor? or any other editor for that matter in an existing EB5 post?
b) Do SI have any plans to implement a shadow box for web links in EB5.x?

thanks
