Hi there,

Is there a way in Composer to link to (i.e. not embed) a file. A client would like to have some text linking to an MP3 file, but I can't see a way of doing that without uploading the MP3 file and then linking to it that way,

Many thanks,

Dave.
Hi Dave,
May I know what is the source of the file? Is it from an external link?

Hi there,

In this case, it's an MP3 file stored on the server. I know how I could do this, I'm thinking about the best way to explain this to a client!

Hey Dave,
If you know the url of the file and you want to link it to a text, you can highlight the text and place the link in the links section(http://take.ms/6tpfv).

Hi there,

I know *I* can do this, but how do I make this easy for a client who is writing a blogpost?

Composer is brilliant, but I think the linking aspect needs a bit of work

Dave.

Hey Dave,
For the built-in composer, that is the only way for authors to place hyperlinks in text.
By the way, which composer is your client using?

Yes for the built-in composer, text has to be highlighted before applying any formatting, including hyperlinks.
