Is it possible to link the calendar to the actual blog rather than the frontpage? Or to put it another way, can I choose where or which blog page I have the calendar pointing to?

I've found the answer...
In the Calendar module set Routing Type to "Use menu item" and then below that select where you want it to end up.
So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm not very sure about your issue. Calendars are linked to the archive page with the corresponding blogs listed . If yours is not behaving this way there might be some issues. Please send me your backend and FTP to check this out. Please advice.
