Hi,

When creating a blog entry entirely with the Link block, the content scraping get the info properly and displays well in the full (detailed) blog entry but doesn't display it's content in the listing view.

So, if an admin (such as ourselves) will use EasyBlog for microbloging and simply use the Link block to fetch info from an external website, unless we post our own cover image and teaser text, nothing appears in the Listing view.

May I suggest you add an option in the Link block that will override the post settings and use the scraped content (image, text) as listing content ?

NOTE: I didn't post this as a voice feature request yet as a good part of this is actually a "bug" (to be taken lightly here). In my opinion; not showing content in the listing should be considered a problem, not a feature.

Thanks
Danny
Hey Danny,

I don't see this as a bug. Intro text on a blog are often used as an "introduction" of the post. The only way to not strip out html codes is for you to turn off automatic truncations and add the read more tag yourself on the blog post.

Alternatively, use the quick posting's link feature to share links

OK so the "no truncate" function achieves this well. Would it be very complicated to make this either a POST level option or at least a MENU ITEM level option (re: no truncate) ?

For the quickpost feature, mmm, that's cool too! As a suggestion, I would add the text description to the Link block there.

Thanks
Danny

Hey Danny,

Currently the truncation setting only available in Easyblog global setting > layout > truncation tab.

The only way the user can put the `Read more` tag into the content, so that the blog listing page, it will show the intro text instead of all the blog content even your Easyblog global truncation is set to NO.

By the way, do you mean the quickpost feature is under Easysocial blog story form right?
If yes, it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog , so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.
