Hi, love EasyBlog. Truly wonderful.

Is there a way to limit who can read an article after the READ MORE tag? I want the article to appear on the front page but tell people that it requires registration to read the entire article. I've seen a similar scheme on other blogs. Wondering if EasyBlog can do this.

Best,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Perhaps you can try this option: Settings>General>General>Login To Read Full Post(http://take.ms/pG24yo)

Thank you! That would work great if I wanted to block all content. What I'm looking for is a way to block individual posts like for example a group of videos embeded in a post about an event.

Anything like that possible that you know of?

Regards,
Mark

Hey Mark,
It will be more tedious if you want to block only certain posts as the setting I mentioned works for all posts.
You can try adding that individual post as a menu item in Joomla's menu under a hidden menu item and set the access to registered users(http://take.ms/yWaOI).

Alternatively, you can set the privacy of the post to registered users only like in the related category, but if that happens, the post will not show in the listing as well.

Interesting solutions, Raymond. Thank you. I could also install something like CB Subs and limit the content based on a URL piece. Can't remember what it's called exactly but I have used it to limit content. I believe CB Subs does the Intro for anyone but READ MORE for registered users only.

But isn't that something that a program as comprehensive as EasyBlog should have? Even if it was offered as an paid addon. The ability to limit each blog post individually would be great.

Maybe someday, I guess.

Thanks,
Mark

Hey Mark,
I'm not familiar with how that addon works but if it works for you then you can definitely use it. We do not have such an addon or feature for EasyBlog where only certain posts in that shows in the listing requires logged in status to view. But if you want, you are welcome to post a feature request in our EasyBlog feature request category in the forums.

Thank you again for your quick and expert help. I have that feature request to limit blog posts. Another scheme would be to limit a category or blogger to registered users only.

Easyblog is really terrific as is the support!

Best,
Mark
