May i know how you limit that update profile point from backend?

Based on what i know is the current option only available for the admin to set number of times the user can achieve this point.

i dont want users to change thier phone number every hour just to get a point

Actually that was default behaviour. as long as the user modify their phone number from their profile, that user will gain the point.
Because that was difficult to check whether this user really modify the correct info from their profile or keep changing in order to gain the point.

Perhaps you have a better checking rule so we can try to implement in the future?

i added a limit of 50 so that the user will stop earning points if he has received 50 points on total because of profile update.

if not limit is set it will be abused

what is the achievement limit for?

This settings actually for how many time a user can achieve it. If you set to 50, user's on your site can achieved this points for interval of 50 time. That mean, it is not related to how many point those users have achieved, it is how many time they can achieved this points.
