I am interested to know this too. This will be useful to extend Easysocial likes to K2, forums and other components. But practically, I dont know if its possible and I am curious to know.

I admit that it would be really cool to see a like plugin for native articles. Liking what people write encourages people to post more.

Thanks for the heads up on this Josh It would be even cooler if those likes would link to the stream items when a person created the article.

Indeed, that's another great idea. I just discovered the ability to display ES comments on articles which is totally awesome! This means I could theoretically install Komento as my climber log and have ES for my comments. This will prevent me from needing an extra comment component.

The future of EasySocial is looking really really good.

Hmm.... I am interested to know what you mean. Were you able to add ES comments to joomla articles? How did you do that? And can you elaborate on what you meant by 'using komento as your climber log'? I do want to use ES comments on other pages but I thought that wasn't possible. But when you said you were able to do it, it peeked my interest

Mark summed up how to add ES comments to articles. What I meant by climber log is to use Komento as a way to keep track of places people have been and give a summary. So here is a non Joomla example. From the main page you can access comments too. This would allow me to have both at the same time. Some day I'll be able to use Komento as a way for people to search for information (climber logs) with search filters making relevant content more accessible than ever. Also the log entries could go on the profile which would make it useful for self tracking. The same could be applied to any travel site or even documenting events. The stacked team only mentioned interest in the portable comments and possibly custom fields. I would probably have to rig up the rest when I get better at scripting. Still in a arm sling.

Anyways, pardon the thread drift. Thought I would voice in some inspirations on what one could do with Komento.

@Josh: thank you for your answer. It's interesting to know how other admins like to structure their site.

@mark: thanks for confirming. I didn't realise ES comment plugin was already there for Joomla Articles. I knew it was possible with EB but didn't know it was possible with joomla content. Good to know..
