Hello SI Support Team,

I'm running into some issues getting links to open as lightboxes in ED. I'm using TinyMCE, inserting a link, and I have rel set to lightbox. When you click on a link it opens as a standard page as normal. Is there a reason for this? I'm not sure if ED is somehow preventing it from working properly.

I've included a URL to the discussion that has the link not opening as a lightbox. Here's an example of the code in TinyMCE as well:

<a href="http://www.ti.com/tool/TIPD153" rel="lightbox">Single-Channel Industrial Voltage and Current Output Driver, Isolated, EMC/EMI Tested</a>

This might not be an ED issue at all but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for the help!

Mel

Hi Arlex,

I've included the login information below.

Yes, my goal is to get links to open in a lightbox. In my TinyMCE I have an additional drop down selection for 'Rel' right above the "Target" drop down menu in the image you sent over. I've attached an image. I'm inserting a link, selecting the lightbox rel, and I've tried to have the target as none and new window. I can't get the link to open as a lightbox. I'm trying to figure out how to make that happen because I don't want users to leave my page completely when they click on a link.

Thanks for the help!

Hello Mel,

I'm sorry but this is coming from the editor tiny-mce and not from easydiscuss. I am not too familiar with light-box but I don't think it supports loading a whole page in an iframe within the popup box. Why don't you try fancybox and see if that works for you because it supports for features then lightbox.

Thanks:)

Hi Khairul,

Thanks so much for the help. Fancybox is not an option in TinyMCE so I'm still unsure how to make all this work. If I replace 'lightbox' in the html with 'fancybox' is strips out 'fancybox'. I know it's possible to open full webpages with with the lightbox rel because it does work in standard Joomla articles with TinyMCE.

Thanks again for the help. I'll keep playing with it and hopefully get it figured out.
