Length setting for JS blogs activity content

If i use setting "Length for blogs activity content" by character and add first a image and after image my text in Write Blog Editor, then i see only the image in JS Activity Stream but no text.

Backend Setting:
Length for blogs activity content: 400 Characters

works not:

1. Add Image via Media Manager into Write Blog Editor
2. Add Text after Image
3. puplish entry
4. only image is visible in Stream but no text

works perfect:

1. Add Text into Write Blog Editor
2. Add Image via Media Manager after Text
3. puplish entry
4. image and text is visible in Stream

Hello Rene,

Sorry I missed your thread earlier. I have just tested this on your site and it works fine. Please see my screen shot here, xxx . This is what I have done:

1. Inserted image
2. Type blog content.
3. Select a category
4. Hit save
5. Appears fine

as you can see in js frontpage stream items..it works not for existing blog updates!? ID 97 and ID148

Sorry but I really have no idea how to reproduce this issue. I followed the same exact steps to edit and save the post again, and the stream still displays fine

ok i unterstand mark but if you have no idea then please give this ticket to a other support member!

I followed the same exact steps to edit and save the post again, and the stream still displays fine
forget the steps..they are quit old..i ask myself why you ignore my other posts above about Content ID's?

I have edit the blog post ID 148, it seems like work fine for me, see my screenshot : xxxx
but i set this "Length for blogs activity content" to 600, so it can display more words. (i also help you configure back to be normal Length for blogs activity content -> 380)

Actually i have mentioned at above, that is because you current is set to Length for blogs activity content -> 380, so i change to Length for blogs activity content -> 600
Then it will show more words in the JS stream.

ok i have changed now Length for blogs activity content to 600 in Backend but your created stream item (profile-newsfeed-item-content-8770) show me still only 4 words for content length!?

Actually I have mentioned at your previous reply that is because when i first time to edit that blog post your setting is Length for blogs activity content -> 380, so that is the first result only show the 4 words. About the second test, i change to Length for blogs activity content -> 600 , so it show out more of the words.

Why does it show with Length Setting -> 380 only 4 words..that make no sense for me? Did you not ignore the image code?


about screenshots:

if you post here a screenshot from a working stream item (-> 600) and i check the last created activity stream item on my site and see a different Content length then it's confusing for me!

hmm..that is a big problem! why? i just tried to update a Content ID wich use 2 images first..what a surprise it does also not work with Length for blogs activity content -> 600

so if the Length for blogs activity content is counted the image code also, then we get here still different content length in stream items!

The Length for blogs activity content must ignore the image code otherwise those setting makes no sense..

If you have used the blog image, none of this issue will ever occur because if you embed the image in the content, the script would need to find and match image tags which is sometimes unreliable because there are many possibilities of how the html code is constructed for image tags.

Blog ID 97 did already use a Blog Image but the Content Length does not respect the Length Setting -> 600 and show also only few words after update/edit in stream.

the html code for image tags is created from EB Media Manager and use for each image the same html class 
easyblog-thumb-preview
wich could be used to find and match.

Thanks for reporting on this, i have applied some fixes in your site, the length for blogs activity content is not including the image tag, please have a look on your frontpage, i have tested 2 edit your blog post.
