We really like Joomla's built in TAG system, where you can add a description for each tag if you want.
When sombody tags Mycompany, this will result in a page where we can have a description of Mycompany on top, a logo, a link to http://www.Mycompany.com, and other contact information, before the articles with this tags are listed.

I have these questions:

1. Is it possible to integrate EasyBlog's tag function with Joomla's tags, so that we for example don't have to have two different tag-clouds if we use both easyblog and joomla articles?

2. How can we add a description similar to the one I mention in EasyBlog's tags, when there are no description field?

3. We tried creating menu-items (in a menu called "hidden menu") pointing to tags that we want to give a description/heading, in order to add a description using a custom module. However, the URLs to the tags in the blogs and on the tag-list stays the same even after we have created a menu-item, so the module wil not show. Why is this, and how can we add a module to a tag?
Hi Andre,

Can you download my attachment below and place it inside your /administrator/components/com_easyblog/tables/ folder and see how it goes?

Hello Andre,

Please find my response to your inquiries below:

1. Is it possible to integrate EasyBlog's tag function with Joomla's tags, so that we for example don't have to have two different tag-clouds if we use both easyblog and joomla articles?

Unfortunately it is not possible to use the tags in Joomla as it is a different tagging system altogether.

2. How can we add a description similar to the one I mention in EasyBlog's tags, when there are no description field?

EasyBlog does not support description for tags currently.

3. We tried creating menu-items (in a menu called "hidden menu" pointing to tags that we want to give a description/heading, in order to add a description using a custom module. However, the URLs to the tags in the blogs and on the tag-list stays the same even after we have created a menu-item, so the module wil not show. Why is this, and how can we add a module to a tag?

If you want to create a specific menu item that links to the tag, you need to create a menu item with the type of single tag layout and pointing to the tag that you want. EasyBlog will automatically link to the tag using the menu id accordingly.

Thanks for your replies, Mark. We were supposed to launch http://www.shapingtheodds.com this summer, but decided to rebuild our plattform so that it would be a great showcase for all of your technologies first... !

It would be great if you joined yourself, and friended me too, so that you can join our community and effort in making a #Payitforward platform where entrepreneurs like yourself help entrepreneurs to success.

Please add me on LinkedIn too if you can.

Thanks for your invite Andre I am actually pretty occupied and don't really spend a lot of time on social networks as I am also involved in development works too.

When I have some time during the weekends, I would definitely play around with your site

Hi Mark, Bjorn here, trying to sort out this taging issue for Andre.
I have created a menu item to a single tag layout in the menu "hidden menu". This has the address /the-institute-for-evolutionary-leadership
I have placed a module on top, showing the page "intraHouse" as an test, and this works like we want it to.

However, when you go in to a blog post like blogs/silicon-valley-s-not-all-about-the-money
-and click on the tag "the-institute-for-evolutionary-leadership" at the bottom of this post
-this sends you to a different address /blogs/tags/the-institute-for-evolutionary-leadership
Therefore the module would not be showing.
I thought this address would change when we created a menu item to the single tag?

Thanks!

You are most welcome Andre. The fix will be included in the next release of EasyBlog so you do not have to worry if the fix get overwritten when you update EasyBlog in the future.
