I recently moved from J2.5 to J3. I now have 3.9.15790 on my J3 site. What steps should I take to convert my site to the latest version. I know that I need a newer version of 3.9. I included my administration information in the site details.
Hello Robert,

Do you want to update your Easyblog to the latest 3.9 version? We can help you install it (3.9.24862) because you cannot download the 3.9 version since we have released the Easyblog 5. Please advise.

Hey Robert,

Updating to EasyBlog 5 is pretty easy.

1. Download the latest version from http://stackideas.com/dashboard .
2. Then, uninstall the current version of EasyBlog on the site.
3. Unpublish all easyblog plugins and modules
4. Install EasyBlog 5

Your data will remain intact.

I can go right to EB5, even if I have 3.9.15790 on my site now. I thought I had to update to the latest 3.9 before I can move to EB5?

Yes, that's correct. You can still go with 5.0 directly

I get this message when I try to install:

Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_easyblog_configs` VALUES ('dbversion','3.8.0'), ('scriptversion','3.8.0')

I've included the username and password in site details

I'm not sure what to try next. The forum said that I should upgrade to 3.9.24862, before I upgrade to EB5. Then go through a complicated porting of database files. That's what I was trying to do, when you said upgrade directly to EB5. But I get the error message.

Maybe I should just stick with 3.9.24862? If so, please send it to me. Or should I just stick with what I have?

Not sure what you want me to do.

I'm including in site details the username and password for the ftp. It is the same for the cPanel. I included the URL for the cPanel in the optional information area. Let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks for your help.

Robert

I was hoping to upgrade to EB5. Is that possible? Isn't that the version I should be using?

Hello Robert.

I have helped you with the installation. The reason you hit this error message when tried to install EasyBlog 5 on your site because your jos_easyblog_configs table have an extra column.

Hope this help
