Hi

I recently tried to update from 5.0.29 to 5.0.30 (I think) and it got stuck at 15% trying to initialize the admin files.

I had just before that uploaded two new .php files that Arlex had sent me to try and resolve my issue with comments not showing on the blog, so I thought I would update to the latest version at the same time.

But this led to it getting stuck on the update install.

I had been advised previously that I could remove the easyblog.instalation file in joomla/tmp but this hasn't helped.

In fact now, even though I can access my back end, easy blog is constantly checking for updates, nothing is being shown in the version/update area in the dashboard. (see screenshot attached)

Can you please help me get this fixed as soon as possible.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've tried to install latest version of Easyblog in your site, but I noticed when the installation trying to copy over to your administrator folder > component > com_easyblog then hitting this following file permission error :

Error

An error has occurred.

-1 Copy file failed

Actually this "-1 Copy Failed" error is a common Joomla error when your site's file/folders permission aren't correct somehow. The problem was indeed an file owner/group problem.

I believe your webhosting or IT staff must have made some changes from your server file permission, can you consult with your webhosting provider or your IT staff try to apply chown for all files and folders to the correct owners and reran the update an it will work fine.

Hi Arlex

Thanks for checking this for me, could I ask you to go in again and try to update.

I have gone back to my original server, there were just to many problems with the new one, and my IT man was to slow at fixing things!

Anyway, so I should be back to normal now, it seems all the other issues are fixed, the registration, the blog views all seem to be fixed now I am on stable server.

Thank you very much for all your hard work and patience with me while we were trying to get this sorted. I have updated my site details as the login and ftp access has gone back to a normal one, no need for WinSCP or putty any more!!

Thanks a million!!
