Unfortunately we do not have this option for display example 5 latest blog post in your frontpage, but we have the module call mod_latestblogs.zip to display the latest blog post, you can download from http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules/easyblog and see this module is it meet your requirement? Please advise.

I have installed the module, however is there any way i could change the numbers of the posts to bullet symbol or any other symbol and remove the view more blog entries button.

Regarding with remove the view more blog entries button, you can disable from the module setting from backend > Module manager > search "Easyblog latest blog" > Click "Post Parameter" , see my screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/6SKnOnmMPvBo

Can you provide some screenshot regarding with this "change the numbers of the posts to bullet symbol or any other symbol"? Because i'm not sure which part you referring to, if i'm not wrong, that is no option to change the symbol to bullet symbol.
